What stuff is /r9k/ into?
here's the template
for bigger charts: https://topsters.org/
>>82871669don't have a favorite album in general, I like really specific songs from albums but never the whole thing
>>82872460I fat fingered the spoiler tickbox
>>82872470lol I like how you did it, but I honestly think it'd be as legitimate as anyone if you just used images from the singles you like, or from the albums your favorite songs are on+Attack On Titan, beer, otterI've been meaning to check out Vikings, it looks greatlol I saw Nikocado's OF picks, hilariously horrifyingthanks for contributing, and definitely check out the anime film Akira if you haven't
>>82871669im on phone so fuck you im going to do it over text>albumonly albums are listen to are "sing along with mitch" albums so i guess that>moviekung fu hustle>vidyamount and blade warband, maybe skyrim>animenone>booknone>pornwhatever gave me a boner at the time>tv showxavier renegade angel, sing along with mitch>drugnone>alcoholnone>foodcanneloni>drinktea>locationi like the state song "west virginia hills" a lot so maybe there>animaltimberdoodle
>>82872538+Kung Fu Hustle, cannoliI recommend Shaolin Soccer, but be sure to avoid the Disney theatrical edit of it because they really ruined it
>>82871669>Jade Empire:D>>82872460Great animal choice I must admit, great indeed
>>82871669I only really listen to classical music, and the only """anime""" I've ever watched was Avatar when I was a kid (although technically not an anime since it was made in America but whatever).
>>82873044+Tchaikovsky, Avatar, Sopranos, seafood pasta, pineapple juice
>>82871669>Chainsaw ManI hope you mean the manga.
What is the non retarded way of filling this>>82871671?I was going to use ms paint.
>>82873119It's transparent, so you can just put the images in where the holes are and overlay the whole thing on top.
>>82873106I mean both. I read a bunch of the manga before the anime came out and loved it, and I actually thought the anime was a fantastic adaptation.>>82873135Exactly>>82873119I use pixlr, which is a free online photoshop alternative, and I used to use Gimp. Pixlr is much better for simple things like this though IMO
>>82873167>I actually thought the anime was a fantastic adaptation.>fantasticIronic word choice for a drab adaptation that lacks the snappy pacing of the manga and rapes its visuals with post-processing effects. Weird to interpret Fujimoto's enjoyment of movies as "Rip a bunch of western directors styles for le grounded feel".
>>82873044>I only really listen to classical musicBased. I should really listen to more classical music.Vidya choice was hard, so I went with something with lots of replayability. I really enjoyed RPGs in the past but I just can't get into them anymore.
>>82873326I love the manga's sharp lines and rough look, which the anime doesn't use. But it's visually extremely appealing, and story-wise it's a straight adaptation. I think Chainsaw Man was successful in a way that the Dorohedoro adaptation wasn't, and I think your criticisms apply much more to Dorohedoro, where the entire spirit of the manga was lost in the anime. Also, you're misusing the word "ironic">>82873340+Sabbath, Summoning, Darkthrone, Sopranos, pasta, beer, beachbased on your black metal picks, I think you'll like this a lot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bf_cZAKzWrU
Being in your 20's is seeing this chart and being like hell yeah I'm filling this out I can't wait to share it. 30's is going, nah
>>82873415It's not just about art style (even though the art style of the anime is incredibly generic and slathered in post processing). It's about pacing of action and comedy which Chainsaw Man lives and dies on. Scenes (Aki's sword reveal to name one) are completely ruined in the anime and lack the impact that they do in the manga, this is only one of many which result in a very underwhelming and uninteresting show.>Also, you're misusing the word "ironic"I'm not. See picrel.
>>82871669Damn you're a colossal pretentious faggot, kys. Typical Austin queer.>>82872460Kek the Nico bit made me smile, and you have the potential to not be gay if you refine your taste. Get more into actual /his/ and /o/ stuff instead of Vikangz and WoT. SnK in particular is gay as fuck, MC is a crybaby bitch who gets cucked and it has strong undertones of pussy boy defeatism.>>82872538>M&BBased but broaden your horizons, go read a fucking book. Start with something lighthearted and fun like The Hobbit.>>82873044Pretty nice except for the homo booze and the vore.>>82873340Also based, interesting movie pick.
>>82873507You just gave me the definition of "fantastic," not "ironic." Look at your pic. Now look at mine, and see if you can comprehend.I think you're making fair points about the anime, but I still really enjoyed it. I thought the characterizations were fantastic, especially with Denji, and I thought the animation was great. You have perfectly valid reasons for not liking it, but for me the strengths made up for those faults.
>>82873340>third strikeHell fuckin yea man, been waiting for them to bring my boy Dudley back.
>>82873436Yeah Old Sorcery is great. I've been listening to a lot of Dungeon Synth lately, which perfectly fit my readings through LOTR, The Hobbit and The Silmarillion.Dropping anther recommendation for fans of the genrehttps://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=minas%20anor%20helm%27s%20deep>>82873611A fellow man of elevated taste I see.
>>82873522>Damn you're a colossal pretentious faggot, kys. Typical Austin queer.lol you're a whiny retard. My taste is literally extreme metal, alt rock, and weeb shit, so I don't see how I'm particularly pretentious
>>82873549The situation is ironic to me. You call the anime fantastic meaning first definition. My main issue with the anime concerns the second definition; it abandons the fantastical visual presentation of the manga. In telling me how you felt about the anime, you also stated something that I find to be flat out wrong and detrimental to the quality of the anime. That is ironic.
>>82873653Nice rec! Here are a couple dungeon synth things I thought were funhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6lsiFzXVQghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kDXyVXW09GE
>>82873522>Pretty nice except for the homo boozeYou'll never guess what my favorite cocktail is>and the voreYea not too proud of that either desu
>>82873666No, you're missing the nuance. What I said is just incorrect in your opinion, but that has nothing to do with "the opposite of what is expected." Me calling something you think is bad, good, is not ironic.
>>82873711>Me calling something you think is bad, good, is not ironic. That's not the ironic part. The irony here is verbal, not situational. You didn't intend for it to be ironic but it was ironic to me.
I didn't know which movie to pick out.
>>82872460cado looks like a normal 80s leather gay guy now holy shit
>>82873794I can see your perspective, but it still seems like a really weak example of irony. You're just calling a disagreement ironic because I called something good that you think is bad. Your use of irony really just seems like a passive-aggressive jab.>>82873795+GoT, yogurt, coffee, sealsI'd still be interested to know some of your favorites
>>82873826>>82873795*I'd still be interested to know some of your favorite movies
>>82873826Lilya4ever, The mirror (1975), Dune part one and two

>>82873850Lilya 4-Ever is an amazing movie! Crushingly depressing, but powerful. Dune Part 2 was great as well. I definitely recommend Blade Runner 2049 if you haven't seen it If you want something similar to Lilya 4-Ever, I also recommend Love Sonia (same basic premise, but in India)
>>82873864+Dragon Quest (never played 5, but loved 3 and monsters), ribs, capybaras, thicc butts, Howlin' Wolf, Bob Dylan, Hasil Adkins, Otis Redding, The Velvet Underground, ZeppelinI haven't seen Porco Rosso but I've been meaning to see it foreverIf you haven't listened to Love yet, definitely spend some time on themhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a19QBz7HEWY
>>82873894I've heard nice things about bladerunner but I don't have the motivation to watch anything these days
>>82873522>Based but broaden your horizons, go read a fucking bookyou know what, I'm actually going to take your advice. having youtube videos of nerds talking about games i've played a decade ago be the sole media i consume can't be good for me. i vaguely remember downloading a pdf of some book a few months ago so i guess i'll start there.
>>82873912For some reason I've never been able to really get into Love, maybe just a bit too much of that west-coast baroque style of psych compared to the more garagey style I like
I'm posting this shit again but slightly changed this time around :p:p:p
>>82871669Who is the porn?
>>82871669Don't really have favorite albums, so I skipped that part.
OP here>>82874398+Aphex Twin, Burial, Massive Attack, Soundgarden, Ghost Dog, Sopranos, espressoNice stuff, my favorite trip hop artist is Tricky so I definitely recommend him, and I like some underground future garage artists who followed Burial, like Phelian and Penseeshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3R_3h6zQEshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QuIwUTO0H7Mhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WI83q5AzUmE>>82874600+LOTR, mimosas, forest>>82875294+Sabbath, Pinkerton, Yes, South Park, beach, parakeets

>>82871669never did this before so heres mine
>>82875648thanks, great stuff!>>82875871+Meshuggah, Blade Runner, Camus, sushi, JapanSome really great stuff thereI think you'd find this metal album interesting: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8TEfdb-0Bo&list=PLkROH3Eqs0T_cbwoEBO4xdZuwVC3c5sbO
>>82876011very nice rec, will listen more when i can
>>82873795I tried to play touhou about 5 years ago on the recommendation of this website but it's actually bad. The music is really good though>>82874398I miss the Soul Eater era of things
>>82871669I'm into fat women.
>>82872460>pacific punch
my tastes are mundane and uninteresting. i won't fill out the pic because i'm lazy and it'd take like half an hour and i've only once gotten a rec on anything from any board (and it was kinda shit)>musici listen to a lot of country-adjacent stuff, mostly what is sometimes called the denver sound. my favourite artists are Munly and DEE. i also like some metal and a lot of artists where i don't care much about the genre beyond them. classical is one piece here and there for me, not so much artists and complete works. i care a lot about lyrics and about the singing, it really does make or break a song for me.>other mediaTarkovsky's Stalker, Dark Souls (or beta minecraft (or receiver 1)), Princess Mononoke (don't really watch anime), Moby Dick, don't know any pornstars but i consume mostly fetish stuff, Chris Morris' Jam>the restalcohol, cheap whisky, don't like food, cheap whisky, middle Swedish forest, i don't know anything about animals but i love birds for their song>>82873340you seem like you might be cool
>>82877381OP here - I don't see how gothic country is mundane or uninteresting, that's one of my favorite scenes in the US. I love 16 Horsepower/Wovenhand and I grew up in Colorado - it seemed like Gothic Country was the one cool music scene to ever come out of here. The fourth band on my chart is actually a gothic country band, Murder By Deathhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHSQk_Y3dd8Princess Mononoke is easily one of the greatest anime films, or animated films in general, ever
Boring template next time post one that allows more options for other stuff that isn't music
>>82877630oh. you're right, it's right there, with clear text and everything. my bad. i did actually look through the thread before posting, but i guess i'm just not all there at the moment. i never could quite get into Murder by Death, but i'm giving that a full listen now. when i share that kind of music most people don't really react in any way and they seem to think it's kind of whatever. have you had a different experience? i suppose the common tastes might vary a fair bit between Colorado and Stockholm. i'm very detached from and ignorant of the scene, i just stumbled across some albums one day and fell in love.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hY3UWim_n0I
haven't done one of these in a bit hard to limit albums>>82873044you don't have favorite recordings? larp
>>82877820Nice, yeah I think gothic country definitely has a presence among alternative, indie, and dark metal fans in Colorado, because it was a cultural thing here. If you ask a random person they won't know the gothic country bands, but if you talk to people who are really into these kinds of music, people will generally know who 16 Horsepower, Slim Cessna, and Jay Munly are. It seems like the black metal crowd is also getting more into this music, probably partially because of stuff like dark folk. I will say, I like a lot of Swedish black and doom metal, like Dodsrit and Katatonia.
>>82877878+The Pastels, Yo La Tengo, coffeeI love those old jangly indie bands, a couple strong recommendations are The House of Love and Miracle Legionhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVdfi1VoM7whttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dk86jqVElVk
i don't listen to enough music to ever fill these out!! fuck!!!
>>82878232That's ok, if there are even some bands you like you can just throw some stuff in there
>>82878239i think my tastes in things would be teasednot that i care or anything!!!!!!! grrr!!!
>>82872460>>82872460>don't have a favorite album in general, I like really specific songs from albums but never the whole thingme too, ive never in my life liked an ENTIRE album
>>82873864Porco Rosso good choice, pity they never did a sequel it was comfy>>82873912it was comfy

>>82878437+pink haired anime girl, Fratellis (fun band!), coffee, shepherd's pie, water, parrotidk that anime but it looks neatBased purely on the Fratellis, you might have fun with The Orwells and Bad Nerveshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWJ2lhsjIwEhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AwAdhvvGFlo>>82878440+Dune, Sopranos, sashimi, skate parkBased on Ex Military, you might like Ho99o9https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4fOtEXI7gJQ
>>82878477+Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada, Avatar, macaroons, owlidk if this is too obvious, but you might like Amon Tobin
>>82878477Phantasy Star Online, now thats a name I've not heard in a long time..... a long time
>>82878510>Amon TobinJust looked him up and I recognize some of his songs. Gives triphoppy BoC vibes. It's good.>>82878535It's the best game ever created. There is an active blue burst community on PC that you can play on. The opening song is like crystalized nostalgia essence injected intravenously. I love it so god damn much. https://youtu.be/6omI9KY3GkM
>>82878484> Pink haired anime girl She's one of the main characters to an anime called Guilty Crown, and part of a fictional band that actually became a real world group. Egoist. The anime/music got me through a rough period in time. They also did music for anime like Kabenari of the Iron Fortress and Psychopasshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIys-oLYq6shttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qiX5DI--8bg> idk that animeIt's Gurren lagann, if you like mecha anime or just want something dumb but inspiring I recommend it. It got a movie adaption too that condenses the entire anime down to two films. Just be ready for the one episode where they had to substitute the director. Dunno the story but I hear it had to do with the primary director falling ill or something.> based purely on the Fratellis, you might have fun with the Orwells and Bad NervesI think I've heard of the Orwells! The song definitely is familiar. As far as bad Nerves goes I think I'll check out some of their other songs to get a better feel for what they make.>>82878462Sorry anon :(
>>82878437based food choice, but avatar as your favorite movie is kinda weak
>>82878477> Boards of Canada - Trans Canada HighwayI could get used to this!> Steins;Gate, Avatar, OwlsVery nice! Loved Steins;Gate and Avatar. Hoping they don't mess up the supposed third series.
>>82878553Whenever I hear music like that I just remember the Dreamcast
>>82878596> Based food choiceThanks!> Weak movie choiceYeah I didn't know what else to put desu
Stuck in the past I suppose
>>82878604It originally came out on the dreamcast. Shame I never had one growing up. My second favorite game of all time also came out on dreamcast. OSTs of this era truly were the pinnacle.>>82878599Trans Canada Highway is amazing with Music Has The Right To Children being a close second.https://youtu.be/9RnGV4XOjZ8
>>82878613> Chocolate under drugWhat is it, a laxative or are you saying chocolate may as well be a drug to you?Foxes are cool though, what's the porn one?
>>82878613Did Lain makes you trans out or not? Why is Lain popular with trans?
>>82878630Troons will never be women and will never ruin lain.
>>82878566Thanks, this music is actually really nice! I wonder if you might like the Japanese indie band Yorushikahttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lVPAWLWtWc
>>82878620>It originally came out on the dreamcast. Shame I never had one growing up. My second favorite game of all time also came out on dreamcast. OSTs of this era truly were the pinnacle.I had the Dreamcast in 1999. It's just that at the time, the Phantasy Star Online servers only existed in Japan, so you were kinda fucked otherwise.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQWY-JOhF2IJust putting this here. They had a lot of good songs at the start but they seem to be REALLY hit or miss these days. Rabbit, their original lead, lost it and transitioned and it seems like The Spine is their new Lead(?) I'm assuming hormones really messed up her voice. They also lost a singer and brought on a new guy but he's actually really strong on his own from what little I've listenedhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xfoi_RCY2_Y>>82878643Oh yeah this is nice! >>82878437Spiral Knights went so hard, i wonder if the community is still alive. MMORPGs tend to sink once new players stop arriving
