4channers who are not racist, sexist, etc, who are leftist/progressive...why are you on this website?
>>82874245I guess Im on the left but I have edgy humor and this is the only place where i can speak my mind and not get banned
>>82874245why would i be mean to people? people have been mean to me and i know how it feels, so i'm not doing that to others. i'd rather ignore them if anything
>>82874245Leftists tend to purity spiral and have really thin skin. I can't make even mildly offensive jokes or have even slightly different views without getting a lecture or just outright banned/ousted from groups. Also, the oppressor/oppressed framework that many progressives interpret the world by is overly simplistic and doesn't account for a lot of facets of society, but if you don't strictly adhere to it you're a right winger!!!1!!
>>82874304define edgy humor
>>82874341you are a conservative
>>82874245I am left leaning on a lot of social issues but still racist. I use r9k because I grew up using r9k and I can't break the habit.
>>82874342Idk i make jokes about a lot of people indians black people trans people whateverIts just humor im not a racist or transphobic person
>>82874304This. I'm a diehard socialist and I've always liked the edgy humor and authentic interactions free from societal constraints that you get on 4chan. >>82874341I realize that you're either too stupid or too brainwashed to care, but, anon. You do realize that leftists and liberals are not the same, yes?
>>82874245There's a fine line between oldfag board culture and chudism. At the end of the day there is no need to be so vulgar
I like the anonymity and that you don't need to sign in or have an account. I mostly lurk out of boredom or curiosity, but sometimes I post to be social or help an anon out.
I'm also on reddit, but I stick to strictly non-political subs. The places like r/news are unreal. Even though I share much of the essential core values with what is being posted there, but the tone is usually just obnoxious to caricature level. The appeal of the places like 4chan is clear: you can simply say what's on your mind and it will not follow you.
>>82874245>racist, sexist, etc, who are leftist/progressiveI'm not any of those things
Because I can't stop coming here? I've been browsing this stupid fucking website for like 15 years and it just feels like home, albeit a real shitty one now. I admit, I'm nostalgic for the "renaissance" period this site experienced around 2011 - 2016. I know it's never coming back, but every other website has stringent rules and accounts. Fuck.
>>82874245Because I was here before all these racist communists astroturfed this place. Most people didn't give a shit about politics here or were vaguely center to center-left like 90% of the internet pre-2014.
>>82874413Only people who have never known success through hard work, or only know of failure, can be socialist. If you had money, be it through hard work or even inheritance, you wouldn't be demanding it be distributed among the lazy fat and black hordes. You are either one of them or a perpetual martyr complex misfit that cares more about rocks than their own family.Socialism can never work in a free country because it would just get exploited. And if you have to force people into accepting a system, you're no longer a free country. If you also do recognize this, then at best, you're infantile. Needing a steady hand to always guide you through life because you are either too stupid or lazy to do it yourself is not a virtue. At worst you're a retard with a death-wish that's keen on dragging whatever country you live in, into economical and ideological hell through democratic means that would not be afforded to you in your utopia.
>>82874356No, I'm just more of an economic leftist and I think progressives are useful idiots for billionaires if not outright hypocrites like NIMBYs. They seem far more concerned with social issues that largely don't impact your average person. That's just US politics though, both parties rile their bases up over issues that largely don't affect them and kick the ball back and forth while both just progress the agenda of the rich who buy them off. >>82874413>I realize that you're either too stupid or too brainwashed to care, but, anon. You do realize that leftists and liberals are not the same, yes?I do, but the distinction in the US is very negligible at least in mainstream politics. I'm hopeful for the future though as it seems the DemSoc faction is growing and poised to take over the democratic party once the old guard dies off. Maybe we'll actually start seeing more favorable conditions for workers once that happens.
>>82874304Huh, I got banned for using slurs and also being a "hilarious jokester" according to my ban notice...>>82874245I like the anonymity. Some people think I'm weird due to reasons outside my control, but I can be completely anonymous here... with no post history to look at or anything
>>82874527>if you have to force people into accepting a system, you're no longer a free countrybreaking news, no countries are free.
>>82874245I've been here for 20 years, why would I leave? I'm a liberal though, not a progressive or leftist.
>>82874611At best you can refute me with a strawman? That's sad. Also, no, this is a issue unique to socialism and its derivatives. If you want to check out of capitalism, you pretty much can, by just not participating. Will your quality of life be significantly worse? Yes, of course. But in a socialist system, by not participating, you'd be threatening it's very existence (this is not the case with the vast majority of other systems, because at the very least they are natural and present throughout history, no doubt emerging once again after failure) because it'd need to sustain you to sell it's lie of equity no matter what, while also not being able to afford to do so lest others follow your example. The ONLY scenario where socialism could exist, is in isolated, closely knit communities of no more than 150 members. And even those would need to rely on capitalist ideas such as trade, even if it were between other such communities, to sustain themselves.
>>82874659Honestly I was just ragebaiting and I'm NTA but you have 0 idea what socialism is. It's not le hecking reddit welfare state like you imagine. It's about workers owning their work and production and giving what you can to those who need it. If you don't want to engage in the system, you've decided that you don't need anything from it, just like in capitalism.Trade is not a "capitalist idea". Capitalism has been around for 500 years.
>>82874245I got into /vt/, though I was on Albino Blacksheep and Newgrounds a very long time ago, maybe before 4chan even existed. I think anonymous internet is important and I think culturally the internet is fascinating. r9k and s4s are fun boards. Pol is a bad joke by the way. They can't even clock a Nyanners reference.
>>82874245I'm a racist black leftist.
>>82874715>It's about workers owning their work and production and giving what you can to those who need itThat's not the natural order of things, and it's also not feasible.Yes, at some point the "boss" may be able to not do anything at all, but that's because he's paying others to do his work for him as he was skilled enough to get to that point. You'd deny him this success? But you also cannot deny the essential work this "boss" put into the success of the company beforehand. If socialism were to come to fruition, you'd have your regular, beergut morons running essential means of production with no knowledge of anything beyond how to operate the machine?Humans are naturally skilled at different things. And some are just unable to perform some tasks.Put a factory worker in charge of the company, and although he may make it a nice kindergarten for the other factory workers for a while so that everyone's warm and cozy, he'll eventually run the company into the ground, and they'll all be on the streets looking for work in a matter of months.
>>82874245I'm actually insanely left wing but I like the anominity. I wish there were more websites like 4chan where you could just post and there isn't any clout or people tracking you.I like the board culture. There are famous anons, but they don't unmask and take credit. In that way, their accomplishments are attributed to the website, not to individuals.I like being able to post my mind. I like being able to shitpost and not worry about some retard tracking it down to my job and ruining my life over it. I like that there are guides for hobbies or pirating movie with no fluff or bullshit. I like that it's easy to mute threads I dislike and move on.I think the left and right have more in common than they think.I also like watching retards fight.
>>82874245Well I like to lurk and learn about other viewpoints
>>82874245I make sure to remind them they're hated whenever they show up
>>82874511God damn I miss those days. I miss when I could hop into a fucking video game and just have fun. Now I have teammates fucking arguing about world politics every goddamn match.
I'm a huge loser and this site is fun to go on and get some laughs from, and I get to talk about being a mentally unstable sex pest and seem normal.
>>82874245free speech. edginess. counter-culture. anonymity. memes. ephemerality. equality. the inherent anti-circlejerk nature of the imageboards.
>>82875410Remember the absolute apathy of the 2012 election. Nobody gave a single flying fuck about it. Vgh... the ways of yore...
You can be conservative AND not a racist bro Wanting lower taxes doesn't mean I want to put Puerto Ricans in gas chambers
>>82874341That's flipped now
>>82874245who cares why tards gravitate to the frog site
>>82874245Early warning system for whatever the next IRL witchhunt will be on. Already survived several over the past decade this way.
>>82875710I for real can't tell if you're being sarcastic because I had zero interest in the election then and as your interest in the election now. But what I remember is people not making clip bait fuck ass titles about it on fucking YouTube
>>82874245I found this website from r/greentext last week
>>82876034You've survived namecalling
>>82874245it's the last place on the Internet that is 1. anonymous and 2. generally lenient on speech. As an autist who is ostracized from basically all conversations between normies, I find home and comfort here. It is a way to participate in the rawest forms of humanity but not be punished for it.
