Sometimes if I hate a thread and want it to die faster I just start posting in it at a normal pace and be myself. That's usually enough to make everyone stop replying immediately.

yeah same. i'd have thought it was confirmation bias or something, that i only notice when it's me who does it, but i'm sure it's something more than that. when i post there's a 50/50 chance of thread death. i post differently in different threads, too, so it's not that i always dump my boring train of thought with humorless sincerity. i want to chalk it up to the way bots work or something like that because it would be uncomfortable to accept that i kill vibes through text alone regardless of what i try to do
