if so what kind should I get
spiders are too scary
>>82882559Never kill spiders. They almost never bite, and even though they produce in-built feelings of discomfort in most people, they are better than almost any other insect in your house. Just clear any webs if they get a little out of hand. Caveats for spiders that are a little more dangerous depending on where you live.
>>82882728They're cute I have a lot in my house but I don't like when they crawl on me when I sleep. I've woken up to a few of the little guys way too close to my face. But as long as they aren't in my kitchen or my bed it's all good.
>>82882559NoLetting loose insecticide willTreating your apartment to patch up any holes (and I do mean ANY holes that aren't something like a power outlet) is also importantSpiders will kill a handful of roaches at best, if you're luckyIf you have an actual roach infestation there are literally hundreds of them in your walls. A spider army wouldn't cut it.
>>82883393I wouldn't say it's an infestation, I just see some small ones every now and then around some places I can't easily clean and it annoys the fuck out of me. I've already plugged the hole I think they initially came through, but I can't seem to finish off the ones already here
>>82883663how ever many you've seen, there are swaths more that you haven't. you need to put in a maintenance request for fumigation now before it becomes a full blown infestation that can't be controlled
>>82883702It's not just my apartment, so the a administration hired a fumigation guy that comes by once a month to spray throughout the building. But I've seen him absolutely soak a roach and it just walking it off, so I'm guessing whatever mix he's using is not very effective
>>82883854Most mixes deliberately don't kill immediatelyRoaches aren't communal insects or anything, but they do tend to nest around each other, and they will also eat each other if one dies. For that reason insecticides are more effective if they kill after a few hours while circulating toxins inside the bug - they die closer to other roaches who then feed off the corpse and die themselves.Anyway, I'll reiterate sealing up entry points, it's likely that your apartment isn't the root problem if you're only seeing a small amount of them, but if you don't block ways for them to access your apartment from elsewhere they're not going to stop showing up no matter what you do (at least until the building fumigation wipes them out completely, if it manages to do so).
Bug bomb works pretty good. Just sucks because you have to leave the house for whatever many hours and then you just want to get back in your bed so you come back early and it smells weird and you have a headache for the next three days.
>>82884117man. my mom would do weekly bug bombs and i would have to 'monitor their progress' by going in like every 30min and make sure the can was still upright and nothing was fucked up in the apartment. that shit sucked so bad
>>82882728>Just clear any webs if they get a little out of handI clean webs on exactly the same spots every single morning with MY FUCKING FACE unless I wake up in the middle of the night to piss in a bottle and catch the little cunts setting up their shitty traps and slap them with my cum towel. I live in an cluttered old attic so they keep themselves well hidden during the day only to fuck my shit up on the next morning. This summer I caught four on a single night, 2 (TWO) of which because they had the chutzpah to climb up my bed sheet and crawl on me. This is what those little cunts do every night, they crawl on me without me noticing and build webs at face level to fuck with me. Not once have I found anything on their webs other than myself. And after I kill the cunts it is a matter of weeks until another one takes its place and continues its shit work. FUCK SPIDERS
>>82882559No. Spiders are not effective, especially not alone. You need Integrated Pest Management, that is, a combination of methods. Effective biological controls for roaches include parasitic wasps and nematodes:https://www.aces.edu/blog/topics/home/cockroach-biocontrol-parasitoids-and-parasites/So if you'd like, you could buy some nematodes off the internet and spreading them in the soil around your apartment complex, especially near food sources such as dumpsters. But you're better off using a combination of chemical controls, limiting access, and removing food sources:https://ipm.ucanr.edu/PMG/PESTNOTES/pn7467.html>buy bait stations, set them in your home>go to hardware store, buy a gap filler, and seal EVERY crack in the floors, walls, etc>go to home goods store, buy sealed hard plastic containers, and put ALL food in your apartment in them>no food, no hiding places, no entrances, and poison baits = no cockroaches>>82884185No offense but that's insane and your mother is an abusive retard
>>82884484>I live in an atticAt that point you are officially the one who is living in the spiders' home, not the other way around
>>82882559Use these guys. 100% serious.
>>82884635These fuckers crawl on you in your sleep and bite, btwBut they do kill roaches
>>82884484>lives in a cluttered old attic >with disgusting pest attractors like piss bottles and cum rags>gets annoyed by spidersI fucking HATE RAKES. I live in a cluttered old garden shed and I clean up rakes with MY FUCKING FACE every single morning. When I lean them up against the wall it's a matter of weeks till they fall over and continue their shit work. FUCK RAKES
>>82884635wtf is thatit looks like it'd crawl in my throat while sleeping
>>82884723That's a centipedeAnd it will only crawl in your ears, don't worry :)
i had a spider in my bathroom for months. he came out of the drain every time i showered because the drain got too wet i think. i let him live and started looking for him every time i went to brush my teeth etc. he was a good spider and never tried anythinga few weeks ago i saw him in the hallway and i killed him. i felt that he overstepped by leaving the bathroom but in retrospect i regret it a loti will welcome any spider in the future to make up for what i did
>>82884635Damn those fuckers are fast. Good thing they stick to the kitchen floor and only go for a run during the night. Without leavings webs everywhere.>>82884619They don't pay rent.>>82884689ok that made me laugh>piss bottles attract pestsI get that the towel might smell, but the bottles are sealed. Also, the only pests around here are spiders. And I don't think spiders enjoy urine and semen.
>>82885378They are foid spiders
