My response to the Anti-Fight Club OP (https://boards.4chan.org/r9k/thread/82880871):Its fundamental critique is that people aren't leading fulfilling lives, and the way society is set up isn't conducive to fulfillment either. It urges people to take ownership of their own lives, thinking about what's actually meaningful to them. It drives this point home when the protagonist tries to create his own society, which is just as oppressive as the one he rejects. It says people need to take responsibility for their own lives, since the system will only leave them unfulfilled.>The part where he makes the guy at the store go become a veterinarian (if i remember right) because it's his "dream", is as pro system as it gets.
