I think people who invested a significant amount of money into skins are stupid, but they have full right to complain.
>>
>>82891856
it is possible to make money doing this but only if you did it early enough, got very lucky, or are a scammer
>>
I don't care about counter strike any more after they ruined GO, the game was buttery smooth and they replaced it with goofy looking trash that stutters, and a headshot isnt even a headshot any more. Like doesn't anyone fucking notice that in cs2 there is a delay between the sound/ visual effect of a gun firing, and the bullet actually landing? Bizarre bug and a broken game. Some call of duty games are unironically better.
>>
Makes me smile lol
>>
What happened lol, I've been hoarding shit and last time I checked I had like $7k
>>
>>82891913
your funny goofy money is being slurped up by hustlers like a milkshake
>>
>>82891913
from what Ive gathered you can basically trade some cheap skins for a knife. As a result knives and gloves have no value now. The skin market has lost like 1/3 of its value in few hours and keeps going down.
>>
My crates have the same market price as yesterday so I don't care. I never bought a single skin.

>>82891935
They're not so cheap and they have gone up in price since they can be used to get knives and gloves.
>>
>>82891935
oh ok, so it's stupid CS nigger bullshit. i have a bunch of dota2 hats that are worth some money but i don't really care. it's an artifact of 2013-2015 that i don't really touch the game anymore. i get like 5 scam friend-requests a week
>>
>>82891856
>Thoughts on the Counter Strike situation?
What did they do this time?

What Situation?
>>
Look how it's the cancerous players who are upset at it, instead of happy you don't have to pay to get gloves or knives now. The rich are communists and the poor are capitalists.
>>
>>82891927
>>82891935
I just checked and now it's worth 5.6k. I was expecting a crash, but I had no idea how to time it. Can't be bothered selling, I'll let it rot on my account
>>
>>82892005
I guess after looking at the situation I am happy about it from a player perspective, I would never pay for anything certainly not to a scummy skin dealer.
>>
>>82891856
i got a bunch of cases from the first 1-3 years of csgo, looks like most of them have lost 25-30%. unfortunate, but its still just like... maybe a 1-2 thousand dollars just sitting there that i wont ever touch lol
>>
they need to solve the hacking problem instead of this dumb shit
>>
>>82892004
This, what's going on? Or is it just about it being a hackerfest like usual?
>>
it's just a really shitty game and community watch it cannibalize
>>
>>82891856
Counter Strike really isn't that bad, most players are just burnt out or cannot handle the grind.
>>
>>82891856
Nah they deserve it. Chinese traders ruined the market through manipulation and drove prices up 10x. Enjoy losing everything
>>
>>82891856
Valve should double case drop rates and lower key prices to $1.50 next
>>
>>82891856
this picture reminds me of that really old meme, before memes were called such
>everyone runs faster with the knife
>pff
>>
Lol good. stop gambling on your tv game and get a job losers
>>
>>82892308
Where do you think they get the money to spend on shit if they didn't have a job?
>>
>>82891856
If someone "invested" a lot of money into something that is almost entirely used for money laundering and gambling, that's very unfortunate for them.
>>
I think the most interesting part is that there are Chinese accounts that have been boarding coverts for a long time- clearly they knew this was coming.

At what point do people have legitimate financial grievances? It's uncharted territory legally, will be interested to see if anybody actually tries to use.
>>
>>82892396
There is nothing uncharted about this. Valve corrected a mismatch between player demand for an item and it's rarity by giving additional chances for the item, from what I can gather. You have no legitimate financial grievance over this video game update.
>>
>>82892568
I'm not saying I think they should. Hell, I literally just made over a $1000 overnight, I'm stoked. Valve just basically gave me free Vidya for years.

But if people are really losing hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars, they will certainly try any possible legal angle they can.

>There is nothing uncharted about this.
Be for real. Name one other video game skin based marketplace with a multi billion dollar market cap.
>>
>>82891899
Time to get a PC from this decade, Vlad.
>>
>>82891856
fuck retards who inflated the skin market shit is retarded
>>
>>82891856
What the fuck happened? I'm out of the loop but I have a knife. Only worth like $100
>>
>>82892908
You can trade up for a guaranteed knife. 5x covert for 1 gold.
>>
>>82891856
>speculate on commodity
>government introduce update that destroys your "investment"
Just like real life.
>>
>>82892954
What the fuck bro i unboxed the knife i have on new years and it was like a core memory and now you can just get one easily. Thats terrible and a disgrace, cs2 is shit even just as a game.
>>
>>82893047
I don't have one and made 500 overnight for doing literally nothing other than own a few reds. But I get it

Rumor has it the EU is about to come down hard on valve for loot box gambling, so they're trying to get their money's worth while they can
>>
i remember wondering who the fuck would pay a few dollars for fucking HORSE ARMOUR in Oblivion, waiting for that nonsense to die out.

not going to lose sleep if some people got scammed over knife textures or whatever this is. it's Counter-Strike. you load the game, you play on a server, right? mod in some new gun model, put together a custom model in Hammer... does that cost money now?

If you buy skins in videogames you absolutely deserve to lose all your money
>>
>>82891856
no thoughts on this situation
>>
>>82891856
I always thought the skins were stupid and people that tried making money off that shit were even dumber. It's crazy to me that there is some dudes probably loosing their minds after dumping their life savings intonskins just for it to lose all value

I stopped being invested in CS after 1.6

>put together a custom model
Playing on valve servers, they ban/kick clients which alter them. It's considered a form of hacking (in the same way that wallhacks would show you visuals that you "shouldn't"). Community servers can do more, I assume, but I've heard of valve delisting them (effectively isolating them from the community) for having plugins which do exactly that.

Community TF2 servers have had similar plugins for years that allow players to have literally anything and everything, but valve neglects already anyway.

I've made like 40 euros in total selling crates. Not much but it bought me a few games during sales.
>>
I still won't come back to the shit game until they fix the cheater problem. I sold my knife when I left a year ago. Glad I sold it instead of letting it sit in my inventory. I can take the rest of the skin losses I have. it was like 300 usd anyway.
>>
>>82891856
I dont even know what situation this is referring to. Give me the QRD.
>>
>>82891856
I think it's gay & everyone that's happy about it is just poor & jealous that others were making considerable money off of skins. Luckily all of my money is in a different game though.
>>
>>82894174
>Luckily all of my money is in a different game though.
>Investing in video game items
ngmi. this should be a sign
>>
>>82894189
I made good money so far with very little effort. Not sure what's so NGMI about that
