I really want to get back into Taekwondo or some other formal martial art. I left TKD back in about 2004 as a blue belt (striped) because of a combination of bad school grades and the place becoming a McDojang. I want to actually earn a black belt this time. I've got to before I get too old...

Go do it. I see a lot of small gyms offering classes now.
I was actually the first student of my school, right when they opened up. I grew up with them, I made it to red/black, and then dropped out because I became depressed. The school went on to be very successful. It was a nice time.

TKD is shit, go learn judo and wrestling then pick up MMA

Why would you want to grope other sweaty, heaving men? What are you, a faggot?
>>
>>82898909
are you retarded? every fight eventually gets into a clinch situation even when you start from standing.
it is very clear you don't train
>>
>>82898920
So you like it when your opponent submits you and puts his sweaty balls in your face until you tap out? Do you sniff them when they are that close to you?
>>
Never too late.

I go to a boxing gym. It's fun. I spar once a week. I've been punched in the face by guys half my age and also by at least one guy twice my age.

Yeah, but the average cost is around $250 a month. I'd do it if not for these student loans.

>>82898898
It's mostly the belt colors I want to earn, though I could see myself doing BJJ.

>>82898942
Boxing seems the most practical for fighting 'in the wild.' But as another Anon said, fights will usually end up on the ground. Don't really like that.
>>

quit writing your gay fantasies on a thread about martial arts you gigafaggot.
you don't train so gtfo of this thread

Damn, that's insane. I was charged like 25 dollars per lesson. They even offered to have me for free, after I left because of how long I had been with them. They were really good, made friends too. I'm retarded for having left.
You should get into it.

>train
Is that what you call it when you go sniff on other men's sweaty balls? Is that the code you use so your wife doesn't find out?
>yeah, honey. I have another "training session" this friday, it'll be rough, and I might stay for more than usual, don't wait for me!

Well, I'll need to get my finances straight.
>Taekwondo? In THIS economy?
Dae...

There was this really cool kick that was composed of 3 strikes while doing a 540 in the air.
It was required to get to black belt. I left right before I was supposed to learn it. I bet I woul get some bitches if I could that off.

Martial arts is gay and boring I don't know how anyone has the patience for it.

I went to judo for two months and quit, it felt like a humiliation ritual. They make you hop around like a frog every day in the gym as warmup and then you get slammed on the floor by people 30 times, then at the end of the class you have to bow and say arigato to your sensei and all the other guys.

>that 540 kick
Hm...now that you mention that, Aikido may be a better option for me. I'm literally in my mid-30s.

>>82899077
2 Months? Tch...weak.
>>
>>82899087
I could've easily done more if it wasn't so boring.
>>
>>82899077
yeah you won't be a pro after 2 months retard. it takes years to be good at judo and on top of that judo is considered one of the hardest martial arts to learn.

There were some older folks in there as well. Choose what you want, but you can def do it. Getting to that point will take a couple years, you will def be in a better condition by then.
I also remember this one time when we were in a sparring session in prep for an upcoming tournament, and the guy sparring next to me got kicked in the head, lost balance and fell down, hitting his head again on the floor, he started seizing and his eyes went white. I remembered thinking I had just seen him die, I was like 12. He was fine, and helped out as staff in the tournament.

isn't taekwondo a meme? like if I jsut start throwing straight hands what is chang gonna do?
>>
>>82899122
kek, that reminds me of when I was sparring against a red and black belt woman (who was pretty competent herself) and she caught me in the stomach one good time. I was a mere purple belt, but a lesson was learned that day.
>and something was 'awakened' as well

>what is chang gonna do
Taekwondo techniques were/are also used by the Korean soldiers (of both sides) during the Korean War, and it is said that at full-force, the techniques can quite literally kill a person (imagine eating an outer-crescent kick from a guy in combat boots). The guards at the Korean DMZ today are trained in Taekwondo, as well as Hapkido and a few other arts. Same as the guards at Incheon Airport.
