Anyone else struggle to turn their daydreams into real ideas? I'll daydream about a scene in my head and then as soon as I try to turn it into a real story I have no idea how to proceed. This also happens to me in things other than writing but it's at its worst whenever I do try to write.

I kind of want to try to write my own visual novel. Just to see what the fuss is all about.

i forgot and you seem like you might know

kigurumi, I think, not exactly just a porn genere doe
>>
>>82899026
Right? It seems pretty interesting. What would yours be about if you were going to write one?
>>82899035
What this guy >>82899046 said probably? I'm not sexually attracted to kigurumis I just think they're cute

I'm planning to make a dating sim of a student trying to date the teachers. So far I'm only drawing and scripting (as in renPy code) instead of writing the story unfortunately

I'm guessing it's a high school setting? or are you making your own kind of education facility type of setting?
>So far I'm only drawing and scripting (as in renPy code) instead of writing the story unfortunately
Hey at least you're making progress right? I find it hard to continue without having an entire story planned out first so that leads to me never doing anything. I think I'll just do other parts of the project first like you and see where that takes me.
>Sophia_design.png
She looks like she would be a strict no nonsense kind of teacher. Is she going to be the hardest to romance? Or have you not thought about that yet?
>>
>>82898983
Why does he wear the mask?

Also, I haven't tried to write down my daydreamings yet so I don't know. When I write down my theories or hypotheses that I daydream on though I have no real issue.
>>

>I'm guessing it's a high school setting?
Probably. I can't for hell decide who is the MC going to be. I just know his classmates are going to act as wingmen.
>I find it hard to continue without having an entire story planned out first
Hahaha, damn. Quite funny, considering that the absolute lack of planning is my biggest struggle in long-term projects.
>She looks like she would be a strict no nonsense kind of teacher.
According to my notes I've almost forgot I wrote, she's supposed to be an one huge superiority complex. MC can decide to either act tough around her several times or get humble, gaining her trust and becoming warm in return.
The skull imaginery is from being a history teacher. I've tried to make her appear regal.

I forgot to ask, what kind of theories and hypotheses? Like are you just thinking about the random things that you observe or are you talking about complex and interconnected government conspiracy theories?
>>82899177
>can't for hell decide who is the MC going to be
This is always really hard since it'll affect every other part of how the game/story plays out lol.
>his classmates are going to act as wingmen.
That's cute.
>the absolute lack of planning is my biggest struggle in long-term projects.
Don't worry, I don't plan a single thing and never finish anything. You are not alone.
>>82899189
You've never felt like trying to show other people what's going on in your daydreams?
>>82899246
Probably not, but I think it would be incredibly painful.
>>82899261
>(ironic considering that bitch's a drawing)
Your notes are really funny lol. I might steal your way of organizing notes because I can't make up my mind on how information should be organized / categorized.
>after checking my notes I can safely say I'm not cringing as badly, as I thought, so I can go back to doing that project
Nice! Hopefully the both of us will read our end goals.
I think that any cringe you feel while working on creative work should just be ignored. It used to have a big chokehold on me but the more time passes the less I care about it. Trying to avoid being cringe is what stops you from being based.

He's a big guy. Also it's largely biology and paleontology theories. I have some other theories and ideas that I have saved, but there's so much I'll never be able to get through them all in a mortal lifespan. I do have story ideas too, but wew... Way too much stuff.
>>
>>82899362
>on creative work should just be ignored
I always like my own works AS I am making them. However, I've learned that I get more critical after I look at them again after some time. That's why I left these notes alone for few months.
>your way of organizing notes
it's a markdown file to be exact

Are you that biology anon from my Wikipedia pages thread?
>but there's so much I'll never be able to get through them all in a mortal lifespan.
I think collecting your own ideas until there's way too much is part of the fun. I have a bunch of multiple page google docs that are just me jotting down ideas I got while looking reading things or playing games. I almost never look back at them but when I do I feel like I'm summoning my past mind state into myself and it's cool.
>>82899397
>I get more critical after I look at them again after some time. That's why I left these notes alone for few months.
That's a really good idea.
>it's a markdown file to be exact
I'm pretty ignorant so I've never heard of this. I'll look into it now, thank you. I've always used google docs and (very rarely) notepad.
>>
>>82899496
> I've always used google docs
Markdown is a text file format, if you're using google docs, then they are even easier and more powerful to use than markdowns (I only use them because they can be edited in Visual Studio Code without switching to a new window).
It's not a way of organizing data. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
>>
>>82899496
Yup, that'd be me. There used to be the odd anon on this board who was also into biology but with how much the site is dying I never really run into any here, so it's a safe bet if you see someone into biology then it's me.

All of those ideas are also future projects, anon B^). It is nice to collect them, but it'd be even nicer if I could really act on most of them. One day though, maybe, hopefully. What are your ideas typically like, anon?
>>
>>82898983
Have you tried writing on paper in different environments? The sensory stimulation can help get creative energies flowing.

Well, hello again then lol.
>with how much the site is dying I never really run into any here
I've only been here for like 2 years (only really started posting this year though) so I don't know what it was like when it was "alive" but I'm sure seeing it degenerate into constant bait posting and political happenings feels bad.
>What are your ideas typically like, anon?
I mostly read web novels, light novels, and manga so a lot of my ideas revolve around writing those kinds of stories but in a way that I would like it. I'm unfortunately not very original.
I've been obsessed with Project Moon games for the last year so these days my ideas revolve around absurdly shitty things happening in a dystopia scifi like setting.
>>82899691
My hand starts hurting whenever a write on paper for a bit so I tend to avoid it. I might try going somewhere else and working on stuff though. Good idea.

Here's a small chunk of my latest idea google doc. (I wish I could post 2 pictures so I could include a kigu)
>>
>>82899717
Hello, hello. Hopefully you got some food for thought from some of those articles :). Also this place in some ways has gotten better, it just has less people on it. Bait will never go away, sadly. Project Moon is the company that made Lobotomy Corporation, right? I do like my dystopias and post-apocalyptic settings. The more surreal, the better in some cases.

I actually haven't been able to look at anyone's pages for more than a glance since then until like right now. I thought I would be free before work yesterday but I ended up having to do some stuff and then was also pretty busy at work too. I'm off today though so I plan to start going through them. I still have the tab open right next to this one. (also thanks for posting your pages metalworking anon if you're seeing this)
>Project Moon is the company that made Lobotomy Corporation, right?
Yeah, they made Library of Ruina and Limbus Company too and it's all set in the same dystopian universe.
>I do like my dystopias and post-apocalyptic settings. The more surreal, the better in some cases.
Surreal stuff is really cool yeah. It can get really confusing though but maybe that's part of its charm? I really like it when a setting is really absurd and or unreasonable. It makes things really interesting and it reminds me of how I feel about real life sometimes and I think it's hilarious.

I see, I see. Sadly never played either, or watched a playthrough. I do intend to at some point though. It seems like it'd be a nice time.
>Surreal stuff is really cool yeah. It can get really confusing though but maybe that's part of its charm?
Hopefully you'd like Tanaka Suguru's art B^). This is less absurd and more alien though. I still find it quite interesting. My surreal worlds tend to be more like this. That or weird dreamscapes, usually riddled with nightmares though.

If it's the worst case scenario where I can't come up with anything after reading it I'll probably just use it to name some character or place lol.

Just looked them up and their art is pretty cool. I think I found his twitter and he really like the color red and the darkness.
> weird dreamscapes, usually riddled with nightmares though.
Dreams and nightmares are two cheeks of the same ass my friend. Can't have one without the other.

I'm going to sleep now since I think I have to go somewhere in the morning but it was fun talking to you and everyone else who posted.

(If you have any more surreal / alien artists please feel free to post them here I'm going to keep this tab open while I'm gone)

Have a nice night!!!
