It took 13.8 billion years of non-existence for me to finally come into existence. I will exist for about a century and then go back into that non-existence, i.e. the same state which led to my eventual coming into existence. If it happened once, why couldn't it happen again? We still have some 100 trillion years before the last stars burn out and longer still before the final heat death of the universe, plenty of time to be incarnated many times over, assuming a 13.8 billion years is a typical waiting time.

Existence ending is sad. It is largely terrifying because of the biological aspect of aging, illness, and death. If we could simply cease to exist when our minds are weary of life, there would likely be no fear associated.
