After playing about 10 hours of Nioh 2, I don't really get the appeal of this game. It's not quite a dark souls game, it's not quite a character action game, it's not quite an arcade game, it's not quite a looter, but it's somehow trying to be all of these at once. The plot is basically non-existent. The characters are too. The gameplay is meh with the combat being okay but not amazing. The bosses are there but not really impactful or hugely satisfying to beat. The level design is decent I guess but a bit same-y just running through villages and shrines. Anyone played this and know if it picks up at all?

A lot of people have enough general knowledge to follow a conversation about a topic they're ignorant of and still be able to form a coherent opinion about it. That's normal. I would almost rate that type of thing as intellectual overconfidence, actually. In my experience, people that are actually intelligent and knowledgeable ironically feel insecure and even a bit lost. As a body of knowledge grows, so too does the surface area exposed to the unknown. There's a stronger epistemological sense of what is and isn't known, what can and can't be known, what is fundamentally unknowable, etc. It leads to a lot of fractured complexity and shades of grey and often a lack of confidence in saying anything assertively at all, because there are a lot of exceptions and edge cases and etc where any kind of axiomatic statement can be disproved on deeper examination.
