One of the first thing normies do is ask your job, it's the most important thing in the world to them. At first I tried being vague and telling "technical" truths. like "I manage investments". But they always HAVE to dig deeper than that. I've never had a single person just accept that answer and move on, so I have to basically just admit I'm retired. I've tried admitting it up front too, but it's the same result. You can see any enthusiasm towards getting to know you start fading from their eyes. It makes you a total pariah.It's been tough meeting people because of how much of a fucking hurdle it is. It's like if I want to have friends the only way is to be friends with other retired people, who are twice my age. I might just have to start lying and telling them I'm still doing my previous job, but I'm very much opposed to lying and it's hard to build a friendship if you have to lie initially, no matter how small of a lie it seems.
