I think it's just genetics and stupidity that makes me just barely happy enough to bumble through. But I still get irrationally angry at least once a day. All sorts of health issues, basically a vegetable in the brain department. His lungs collapsed a couple days after birth and guess what? Doctors revived him. That lil guy was not meant to continue living. So now all that will happen is that his parents will go bankrupt and their other, healthy kids will also suffer, all for the sake of a kid who doesn't even know he exists and will be a burden on the health system til the day he dies.

I have a family of five as neighbors, two parents, three kids, very standard. Except that they live in a small two bed flat. The older siblings are a brother and sister in early teen years who have to share a bedroom. The youngest is an infant who sleeps in with the parents, he's also very clearly autistic and nonverbal despite being old enough that he should be saying basic sentences by now. Guess what? The mother still wants another kid. She told me this while we were chatting one time, all dreamy faced. I asked why she wants another when she already has three, and she just said "I dunno really" with a vacant expression. In both cases, they seemed like people who had the same goals and passions, wanted the same things in life. And in both cases, they didn't have kids, so they avoided the stress and hardship associated with childcare. Too many times, marriages involve two people with nothing in common looking to obtain things from life, or just to feel socially validated. But deep down they don't actually like each oher, so after the horniness fades and kids appear, everything goes downhill.
