Both of them are alive, which I am grateful for, but they live states away and I don't do well with travelling. Also my father's mother is currently deep in with dementia and doesn't even remember who I am. She thought I was my dad's roommate and completely forgot he even had a son. So for my own sake, I wanted to keep my last in person interaction with her as when I said goodbye to her and my grandad just before they moved when they both still had all of their cognizance.

>>83271149My maternal grandmother died several years before I was born. By the stories my mother tells, she was extremely, scarily intelligent. I wish I could meet her. My paternal grandmother is currently in prison for larceny.

I'm her rentoid but I pay it cheap by cooking for her every other day, taking out the garbage, mowing her front yard, etc.I'm not the only one that helps her and I hardly sit down to talk with her but I enjoy doing stuff for her.
