i don't understand why people don't stick around. i don't have trouble attracting people, and they often say i'm fun or interesting, but somehow things fade after a month or so at most. it's starting to feel like i'm just here for people to get a quick burst of excitement from and then thrown in the trash like a used wrapper

I don't stick around ppl on d*scord bc I always end up feeling like I have to fit their tiresome, rigid and narrow worldview or they get belligerent with me, so I just ghost when it's going that way.
like I'm not going to be reliable for someone who a) isn't there for me IRL and b) is actively proving themselves unreliable.
I want friends too but not at unreasonable cost.

Mostly I don't want to tolerate evil crap.

Most people treat friendships as disposable conveniences rather than the idealized bond you see in fiction. I always assume every friendship has an expiration date so I'm not constantly heartbroken. I've also entirely given up on forcing myself to be the one initiating every conversation and chasing after companionship like I used to. I'm a lot lonelier now but it's much less of a burden so I'm fine with it.
