>all my books are ebooks I store on a tablet
>all my music is stored in local files synchronized across my devices
>all my video games are stored either on my computer or on my switch
>i don't play any musical instruments except a single MIDI controller
>all my debit/credit cards are on my phone and watch, don't even really know where my physical cards are honestly
>if a place doesn't take mobile payments I just don't go
>even my ID is digital
>all my movies are either pirated or streamed
>same with tv shows
>all my hobbies are online
>i don't go outside
what are the implications of living this way? am i a bugman?
>>
the idea of having all your most important assets able to be lost forever from a simple virus or hack seems insanely irresponsible
>>
>>83274349
to be fair you could lose everything physical in a fire, robbery, flood, storm or earthquake.
>>
>>83274332
im the exact same anon.
>>
>>83274391
Got dat nigga
>>
>>83274391
no i couldn't. i don't start fires and there are no natural catastrophes where i live, and no nigger b&e gangs are going to lug my bookshelves out the door or gather up my cds. my belongings will outlive me.
>>
>>83274716
none of the people who lose things in the ways described think those things could happen to them anon. no one wakes up in the morning and thinks, "oh boy! I hope I get robbed today!"
>>
that's every normal person
>>
>>83274716
>no i couldn't.
Yes you could.
>i don't start fires
You don't have to. Electrical fires, battery fires, wildfires, they can all happen to you without any participation on your end.
>and there are no natural catastrophes where i live,
Yet.
>and no nigger b&e gangs are going to lug my bookshelves out the door or gather up my cds.
Robbery can happen to anyone. You are not immune.
>my belongings will outlive me.
You can't be sure of that.
>>
>>83274332
estuff is good; it's the future and it saves trees
>>
>>83274932
yet, as in, not in recorded history. it'd be pretty funny if a fire spread through my all-concrete cell though, and if someone did try to steal my physical collection i'd be impressed at their stubbornness. they better bring a crew and a truck.
>>
>>83274984
I don't think you fully understand the concept of likelihood anon.
>>
>>83275092
in what sense do i not
>>
>>83275105
>I can't die in a car crash because I always wear a seatbelt and check my airbags.
>>
>>83275135
i'm fully aware of the risks of car travel. in fact of everything in my life it's probably the most dangerous thing i do. however, i'd wager that a burglary of a collection of near-valueless books and disks etc. has literally never happened in this country and it is so practically unviable to do (especially since i live on the third floor behind two security doors with no reason to be targetted) that the risk of it is non-existent in the same sense the risk of the hill my house is built on spontaneously collapsing is non-existent even though it, hypothetically, can happen. the same applies for natural catastrophes. actually, i think you have an improper, pedantic, childish idea of relevant possibilities as things that might, possibly, happen, with little or no regard as to the actual odds and reason of it
>>
>>83274332
This is bad because governments are making an active effort to censor the internet. Albeit it's probably not as bad as it could be since you're not using cloud storage
>>
>>83275189
>i'd wager
See, that's not what you originally said. You initially said you "couldn't" suffer a robbery, fire or natural disaster. Which just...isn't true. It's highly unlikely and impractical to happen to you due to your specific circumstances, but it's not theoretically impossible.
You would've had a stronger point had you said something along the lines of, "Yeah but that stuff probably won't happen to me because I take many active precautions against it," but then again, that same logic applies to those who virtualize everything too. A cybersecurity expert would be significantly less likely to suffer a virus or a hack than a normie whose password for everything is 123454321, but, like you, they are not totally impervious to all vulnerability.
This strain of the conversation is a moot point anyway because the furthest logical extension of your argument is that physical media is inherently more secure than virtual media but all of your reasons as to why are specific not to the medium, but to the circumstances of your life in particular. Not everyone lives in a structurally reinforced concrete cell behind two foot-thick vaults with nothing of any real value, and in the context of robbery whether or not you have anything of value is irrelevant because most robberies aren't conducted in pursuit of any particular item. They're breaking into your house to see what you have before knowing what that is.
>>
>>83275251
that's so absurdly fucking pedantic man. yeah, when we say things can't happen, it's often actually hypothetically possible for them to happen.
>>
>>83275275
???????
You said you can't lose your stuff, I said yes you can actually. How is that pedantic?
>>
>>83275275
>yeah, when we say things can't happen, it's often actually hypothetically possible for them to happen.
no, people usually don't say "that's impossible" about things that are not impossible.
>>
>>83275349
They do, all the time, although nobody did ITT
>>
>>83275394
i have literally never seen anyone do that in my life wtf
>>
>>83275418
What, that's impossible
>>
>>83275442
that's different, that was delivered in a way that clearly indicates it's just a figure of speech. the way the other anon said it made it seem like he was being literal
>>
Yes you are a bugperson

Soon a NWO will be able to kill you by freezing your entire digital life

They have already done this to people in Europe (for criticizing Jews)
