Is a 20 year age gap ever okay?
>>
>>83278532
>60 years old
>80 years old
Sure, why not. Below that's definitely weird though
>>
>>83278532
idk but i dont get how anyone would want to date someone 20 years younger or older than themself, how do you even relate to each other
>>
>>83278532
Today? No.
Hundred years ago? Sure, it was even somewhat normal.
>>
>>83278544
It's 20 and 40, unfortunately. How about 30 and 50? 40 and 60?
>>83278546
Oddly enough it doesn't feel as strange as I had expected it to. It's crazy to think that there are twenty years between us, though. That's a lifetime for me.
>>83278558
Hmm.. What made it acceptable then?
>>
If you get along then it's fine. It's that simple. Everything else is moralistic grandstanding.

You had to be mature at an earlier age so childhood as we know it ended pretty fast compared to now where you could argue the average adult is on a perpetual state of arrested development.
That's just my two cents, I don't know a lot about this subject.

the patriarchy and the lack of options for women which meant marriage was a commodity instead of the institution of love is supposed to be.
>>

Do you think real love can develop under these circumstances? Or will it always be weird? People talk about power imbalances but what if the older person is very considerate and genuinely loves you?
>>
>>83278700
Yea that institution of love is going so well these days
>>
>>83278823
Real love can grow in those circumstances, why wouldn't it? Love is how two people feel for each other in their own world and vacuum. Love doesn't require outside approval or influence. There is always power imbalances in every relationship that exists, be it financial, maturity, goals. Age can contribute but it doesn't define that, a younger person could be more mature, worldly and wealthy. What matters is comfort and care between the two.

Real weird. But you're both adults.

>30 and 50
Still pretty damn weird, looks like some gold digger grabbed you

>40 and 60?
Still kinda weird but you're getting to the point where it stops mattering so much.

My wife is 20 years older lul
>>
>>83278546
You relate to 20 year younger women by partially being her new dad (15%), lover (60%), mentor (15%) and friend. If there is a spark, a connection between you it will feel natural, like falling into each other. Our souls care not about numbers but trueness.
>>
>>83279133
She might even ask you to roleplay as her stepdad. Lmao
>>
>>83279067
When did you marry, anon?
>>
>>83279417
Few years back, as soon as I was legally able. We'd been in a relationship and even had kids before that though.
