My mom told me a dead lizard was found on the driveway today, I believe she accidentally ran over it considering I saw the dead body, I think we will give it a proper burial tomorrow. Rest in peace lizard.

Sometimes when I clean up the room because all the cans and boxes have lowered the ceiling too much I find mice that were squished to death. I mean I didn't do autopsies and I'm not a mouse doctor, but I think it's happened when I was walking.

These two are smarter and prefer the high ground where there is less risk of being squished

Sometimes they play tag and chase each other. I'm not happy living like this but it must feel like a giant jungle gym for them. Lots of stuff to climb or comfy little spots to curl up in and nap. They really like shoes. But they hate when you put it on with them still inside. It's almost shocking how loud they can squeak.

I don't find it particularly pleasant, but you eventually get used to it. The bad thing is all the clothes smell mousey. That's also not pleasant, but it's much less offensive than the smell of dead ones.

when I lived like this I woke up to a bunch of roaches crawling on my face and that's when I knew I had to change. Why do you continue living like this with dead rats around. That would drive me crazy

Some people have dogs or cats. I have mice. I don't think it's exactly unheard of to live with animals.
And I don't keep the dead ones, I'm not a hoarder. They are thrown outside as they are discovered. They eat all the food scraps which probably helps keep bugs from getting established. Only bugs I see are spiders, but they take care of the flies so as long as they don't get on me it's ok.
It could be argued that this is a symptom of disease too. You wouldn't walk up to a cancer patient and ask Why do you continue living like this with loose strands of hair falling out everywhere? The mice are probably the most interesting thing in my life right now.
