I went on linkedin for the first time in years and the first thing I saw was a blogpost from an old college professor I had having a melty over AI. He has now basically taken his class to a pre internet age, no digital technology usage allowed whatsoever, all work must be written with paper and pencil in class, etc. He also said he will block anyone who disagrees with his views or says the AI future is inevitable.Holy shit what a baby lmao. I thought he was chill when I took one of his classes which was also one of my favorite ones in college. But looking back I suppose there were many signs that he was a woke retard back then too so I guess this isn't surprising. When will the AI seethe stop? It's so childish how people cry about it nonstop. Not saying it's good or bad but to think its progress can or will be stopped is pure out of touch delusion. Every company in existence is trying to find ways to implement AI into their business to streamline processes and cut costs.
>>83286862>, all work must be written with paper and pencil in class, etczasted>When will the AI seethe stop?when saars stop spamming that shit
>>83286862>Not saying it's good or bad but to think its progress can or will be stopped is pure out of touch delusion. We'd simply need to kill everyone who works on or uses it. There's no such thing as historical inevitability, anon. Many things are reaching a boiling point. Interesting times are ahead either way.
>>83286862>all work must be written with paper and pencil in class, etc.Based, cheating international students must be seething
>>83286872>>83286920>being a dinosaur is based>>83286882>We'd simply need to kill everyone who works on or uses it>pure out of touch delusionProfessor?
Back when I was a kid, we had teachers who were anti-calculator because "you won't always have one in your pocket". I hope they feel stupid
>>83286955Yeah betting against tech is retarded. It's like the people who were against email or computers in general
>>83286862I don't think you understand what an absolute nightmare AI has been for teachers and professors. Literally all assessment must be done analogue and in-person at this point because AI represents that much of a liability to academic integrity. Using an AI to check AI just compounds the issue, now you're doubly reliant on The Machine.
>>83286971This is what people said about NFTs
>>83286990I guess that is fair. I finished school right before chat gpt took off so I don't know how academic culture is now. I get trying to combat cheating but it's all the maldseething that has become very annoying. Normal people do not care that much. People's grandmas are sending AI birthday cards and shit
>>83287028I mean you can point to a lot of individual things that never took off. But for technology overall, line go up anon. It also comes down to things like value, utility, and potential which AI has a lot of but which couldn't be said for NFTs
>>83286862The future was settled once the first cohort of normies used chat gpt. I'll never forget how my classmate's face lit up the first time I showed it to her as she was struggling to write a scholarship essay. The end has already happened. Even if you are the goodest boy and get the goodest grades in college, you were in competition with student organizations and fraternities that have archives of exams going back generations, they have people embedded in various industries to feed them interview questions, etc, it was a complete joke even before AI. Oh, but now that AI is here, the righteous fist of indignation comes down on the average friendless turboincel lurking a campus? Fair enough as he is, at this point, one of the last of his kind. Parents can no longer afford to send their kids to college and their kids have no ability or even intention to profit from higher education. It's exclusively going to be a social club for international elites hereon, and everyone's gonna be a business major or something else inconsequential that doesn't train you for any existing work. It's just a big long circlejerk so that your parents look better at dinner parties. >>83286990>AI represents that much of a liability to academic integrity.I've known professors who literally do the meme of sleeping with a becky student.
>>83287069>for technology overall, line go up anonOnly in recent history. Look to the past, with its changing empires that rose and fell, and you can see the future too.
>>83287029And consider the growing number of ESLs now studying in western institutions. It's a total disaster. Third-worlders, who already love to cheat at every opportunity, who can't even write a proper sentence in English, can now just get a machine to shit out an entire cited essay for them. It's the one area where I actually agree with the seethe.
>>83287168I don't know why you have to make it a race thing. Well I guess I do know it is probably because you are a dumbass chud school drop out. But I went to college in the south and was in a business program that was dominated by whites. All the white chads and stacies in frats and sororities cheated. Everyone cheated. If anything the only students that didn't cheat were the international asian and middle eastern students that were there to actually study and learn.
>>83287257>If anything the only students that didn't cheat were the international asian and middle eastern students that were there to actually study and learn.
>>83287028The ONLY people who fell for NFTs were people who got into Crypto too late and they thought they would get to ride the bubble this time. Everybody else knew you were paying for a .jpg
>>83287153>everyone is cheatinghttps://youtu.be/Uul6LQCPRLk?si=jIrnTeY1T4MWF4TK>the whole class was cheating, but you weren't in on it
>>83287257I actually work in an Australian university lolThe ESL cheating problem was bad before AI, and literally unmanageable afterwards. We don't have the same retard culture of frats and sororities over here, we just have a lot of spoiled foreign kids who think they're beyond reproach because their dad is some bigshot back in Delhi. You sound like a seething brown mad that he didn't get invited to a Hollywood frat party.
