I'm studying Philosophy on university. Two of my teachers are or were leftist, Sartre, which I want to study, was a leftist, some other authors I look up to were leftists and some of my intelligent classmates seems to be leftists as well. Should I just become leftist as well? Is leaning to the left-wing necessary in order to succeed at humanities?

So listen to them when it comes to philosophy, but be skeptical about their politics and their cookie recipes because they're not experts on either of those areas.

It completely depends on what the hell "leftist" even means. While I'd consider myself a bit to the right relative to today's mass consciousness in which people who say the nigger word (even in self defense) should be flayed alive while a little deformed goblin kid dances a gay little jig while dashing handfuls of table salt into the exposed red underdermis, I respect a lot of the pre-1960's leftist thinkers and think they weren't the babbling idiots that babbling idiots like Ben Shapiro claim them to be. Very few right wing people care about sciences and humanities. They are more into business and engineering, which is still useful of course, but they very much don't want to tread new ground and aren't in fields of thought.
