I'm having a little atheist phase, the last one was when I was like 13-14 so it's been a while
Agnosticism is for chadsAtheism is for pseudsReligion is for low IQ
I am becoming more religious ever since I had my episode of THC induced psychosis. I know what I experienced could've easily been explained as my brain altering in it's function under the influence but it felt so realI lean towards Christianity but there are things that are bothering me, namely the condoning of slavery and killing of children in warfare. The problem of evil has always been another issue that bothers me. I feel like most people who make fun of the problem of evil are lying or are fully deluding themselves that there's no such problem
>>83290365You are not an atheist, you are just one of those disingenuous faggots who will say they were "lost" and are "born again" in a couple years from now. Last time I belived in religion I was 13-14 and once I learned enough about the universe and human nature I never looked back.>>83290378Agnosticism is for people who like riding the fence. I don't really have anything against it though.
>>83290365my teenage atheist phase was exactly what you'd expect from a 14yo atheist, I was very eager to argue with anyone who had the remotest shred of belief and tell them exactly why they were completely and irredeemably wrong.I'm still an atheist a quarter-century later, but I stopped giving a shit about whether other people are religious. Like, whatever, you do you, arguing about it isn't likely to achieve much for either of us
>>83290443>understanding that God is unfalsifiable is riding the fenceLol ok
>>83290477Saying god is unfalsifiable is the same as saying dragons are unfalsifiable. Sure, there is a chance of literally anything, but dragons do not exist, neither does a higher power. Actually, dragons at the very least would likely be able to operate under our current understanding of physics, so dragons are more unfalsifiable than a god.
>>83290378It's more of a mood thing rn I do think the best position if you wanna be pseud is agnosticism though since it takes the least work to defend. >>83290409I have a friend who got super into Christianity which is what brought back this arc for me. I agree, I've never seen a convincing response against the logical/evidential problem of evil. >>83290443Doubty I've just not been thinking about it for the last 10+ years, very religious household but I've never held belief in god since my teens. >Agnosticism is for people who like riding the fence.I dunno desu it's a fair position if you don't have evidence against god.>>83290462It's one of the few topics where people are super passionate. What else is there? Veganism, objective morality, economics, abortion, race... well I guess there are a few.
>>83290534>Sure, there is a chance of literally anythingUnless it's a contradiction
>>83290637If it cannot operate in our current understanding of physics, then there is basically a 0% chance of it existing
