Why is this specific movie so popular among 4chan and a lot of zoomers?
It's a good movie but I don't think it's the best movie made either.

>le literally me incel movie
>directed by a woman
I miss when Bateman was just the dubs guy and wasn't known to Tiktok zoomers.

It's a stealth submarine blackpill torpedo. One day, you realize that for women, this was an erotic film.

Midwits laugh at chuds that like Bateman, they assume chuds dont understand the capitalism satire, yada yada.

Not realising, that chuds relate to Bateman because he's miserable.

I like it because Batemanposting is funny, that's it. It's a good movie that also gave some good laughs from all the jokes associated with it.

Its not an incel thing it was liked by young men in general long before incel were a thing. It was movie that was supposed to make fun of toxic masculinity and masculinity in general but teenagers who identify with these extreme masculine ideals decide 'omg this guy is literally me' and see him as a role model so yeah there you go.

Its also just a fun movie in general pretty good normiecore. I see it less and less now tho.

It was on the middle of the 2019s, when the majority of movies were slop made for a "wider audience" but who only appealed to women and gay people. Suddenly r9k zoomers found old gems that resonated with them with themes that men could relate and understand even if in a critical and bad tone, simply because it was good.
American Psycho, Taxi Driver, Fight Club, etc. those movies have very recurring themes to the men's life, one of the most common being how maddening and alienating modern life can get, the "We live in a basedciety", kind of melancholic theme.
Nowadays Hollywood tries to make movies to the male audience but it is most "le badass action movie with explosion and bitches number 190440" so it can get kind of cringe and alienating sometimes.

the subtext is even though he's a murderous psycho-killer, because he acts and dresses in the right ways the NPCs are willing to ignore everything he does to keep the peace. Which shocks even him.
