I remember several long years ago when I first watched the original series and the ending film it really resonated with me. I loved it but, at the time, I was really deeply depressed. And at that time I even related to Shinji in some ways.Just recently I have been watching NGE Rebirth for the first time and while it is entertaining, I cannot help but dislike Shinji and Rei this time around. Shinji seems whinier for some reason, and Rei is a stone wall. Other characters like Misato seem mostly the same, but I cannlt help but notice that change in how I percieved Rei and Shinji. Is it becauze I am no longer deeply depressed? Or is it because Rebirth is differently made and presented?
Do you mean the rebuilds or Death and Rebirth? Because they're different things.I watched Eva for the fifth time recently and I appreciate it more as I get older. I think it's probably the best series ever made and that's a hill I'll die on.
