I had an argument with my mom again today and I told her she doesn't know shit about my job market because she was making light of an English teaching position I found overseas, in Cambodia.

I got angry and told her to shut her damn mouth because those asian countries are where ESL teachers are mostly in demand but she just doesn't get it and thinks you will easily find a job as an English teacher in Europe or the US.

Which doesn't make fucking sense because these countries already have a high level of English proficiency or just hire directly natives since the UK is an hour away. Being a non-native bilingual speaker is almost a death sentence and I really hate that, so I have to try and get hired wherever I can to get started somewhere.

I still feel bad about overreacting, but as a 27 year old man I'm fucking tired of living with my parents.

my parents promptly kicked me out at 18 after i found a room for 350$ canadian, and agreed to help me pay rent if i move out

It turned out to be a paid internship but you have to pay a fee for the temporary accommodation and job placement. I would try it if I had at least 3000 euros but I just started working remotely so I can't afford it yet.

3.5k USD god damn. The creature should relax if it is even capable of saving that amount of money.

>cambodia
Sea is going to filter you hard man it's better to stay in italy
those countries are shitholes and you'll be begging your parents for a ticket home after stepping off the airplane
the pollution, terrible hygiene, brown and ugly people, crime and the lack of accesibility is horrible
your mom is right if you want to teach english there's better places to do it and if you want to move to japan this is not the way man

Which other ways do I even have? Nobody is hiring me in this fucking shit hole because "no experience" and I can't make experience unless I work for schools for free. I'm not slaving for them when I have a master's degree and a CELTA and I've been learning English since I was 11 so I'm perfectly bilingual. I'm currently working on Native Camp in the hopes of building connections and using that experience to boost my cv but fucking recruiters will always find a way to discard me. Also being an ALT in Japan isn't easy if you're non-native unless you are very lucky and get hired by some shitty schools or have connections with eikaiwas.

my mom had the weird idea of me being an ESL tutor in my local country too, she must think it's an in-demand job that only degree holders can choose rofl

look i'm not going to gaslight you i don't know the answers to those questions i still have faith that you're gmi as an eng teacher in japan but if the job search goes awry there's always
>marry a jap woman
>work as a wagie (mcdonalds, train driver, etc)

You know I could technically move to Japan and keep teaching online, eventually I will move to better paying platforms. However
>these online jobs are freelance and don't offer a stable contract, therefore no contributions for your retirement
>i have no idea how the japanese law works, but if you make more than 5000 euros as a freelancer in Italy you must open a business and pay taxes
