Gooning edition

Question For The Thread:
Are you doing 25 Days of Gooning for Christmas? It's for a good cause.

Previous Thread: >>83411710

>How does it work?
People will post their Amazon wishlist link according to the instructions below. People who enter the thread may post their list, and it is your decision to gift who you want.
-------------------
===[FAQ:]===
READ THE FAQ BEFORE ASKING QUESTIONS
-------------------
>Does my address get shown?
Your city and state, and shipping name. Refer to the instruction image below. Shipping name can be anything you want.
>How will I know if something has been bought for me?
Items disappear off your list after being purchased. You can also go to your list, press Filter and Sort, then select Purchased.
>Will the information of the gifter be shown to the recipient?
Your first name may be shown. Amazon by default doesn't share but third party items may.
>Why should I gift something? I'm not gonna get anything in return!
This is a different take on a Secret Santa, where anyone can gift or get from anyone. If you're feeling generous, please do consider giving back to others.
>Last year people bought stuff for others and then cancelled them to epic fucking troll us!
And they did that the previous year, and the year before that too. It happens when you have amazon wishlists, it's disappointing to lose out on a gift, but the item will just go back on your list like they never screwed with you at all.
>How often should I post my list?
Once a day or thread depending on the speed of the general
>Can I post multiple lists?
No. Only 1.
>The threads are too early!

No, I would never stop sleeping. You anons who do this stuff are a rare breed.

I am still watching the series called Landman, then more of Stranger Things on December 25, 2025 (three episodes), and December 31, 2025 (final episode).

>Are you doing 25 Days of Gooning for Christmas? It's for a good cause
It's called Destroy Dick December IIRC, and nah.
Yes, this is a new list identical to my old one. I got grinched last thread. My own fault for not grinchproofing it properly and believing the Amazon bots. I have the sneaking suspicion that I was legit mistaken for a foid, because someone was reeaaaal~ proud of himself for grinching a foid's whole list.

https://voca.ro/1dRysp3QHjlu

3 damn hours on the phone with Amazon customer service. You have no idea the sensation of relief I felt when I heard a palpably Australian accent on the other end. You really do have to do what the thread bake says and be insistent and reroll if you get another bot or run up against a wall or whatever. Deadass just repeat yourself and be like "I NEED TO SPEAK TO THE RE-GI-STRIES DE-PART-MENT" like 29 times over the course of a morning while listening to upbeat on-hold music. It's what has to be done. At this point I have verbal confirmation from them that "Buying this elsewhere?" was disenabled, so if it's *still* grinchable... I dunno man.

>>83436740
This year feels like Autumn never really came. Even the trees, it seems, tentatively considered shedding their leaves, and then just didn't. Like a long, tepid summer. There really is something to the quiet muffling of the snow that makes winter feel Christmasy.

>>83437077
Brutal. There's still time yet to go until Christmas, though.

>>83437100

No idea. No real plans. We never put up decorations or anything this year. I'll watch something Chriatmasy, eat something Chriatmasy, drink some peppermint hot chocolate, probably tune into some vtubers like usual, and put very specific and seasonally-locked sweaters on my dog. Might as well spend at least Christmas feeling like it's Christmas, no? Usually it takes me all day to call/text everyone anyway.

Eh, just a crap year. I don't think anyone feels it.
>What are you thinking about watching?
Christmas concerts on speaker.
>I don't get watching anyone, let alone vtubers
It's peak loser behavior but I'm that guy. I largely just use it as background noise for drawing/cleaning/working out but the real fun ones do daily games like a very engaged teacher wrangling a class of retards.
>Who do you watch?
I'm all over. Pippa, the other Phase girls, Ali, Kirsche, Cotton, Bao, Lily Hopkins, a few smaller Filian-adjacent ones, Chibidoki, Buffpup, whatever. Meat or Lulu Lasso if they're on late at night and I'm up for it. My oshi graduated this year. Rough year for vtubers.

>>83438742
>>83438720
Physical media beats all for collections, but I'm not gonna lie, for stuff like animation or drawing I can't imagine going back to straight physical. Imagine sitting there with a lightbox, a sharpener, dozens of sheets of paper, tools for drawing straight lines, magnifying glass, etc. and doing the flippy flippy thing all day amidst STACKS of hundreds of frames of near-identical drawings. Isn't it nice to be able to correct mistakes instantly? To duplicate layers? To erase anything you drew with? To move layers around? To have 200+ layers off to the side of your screen instead of 200 sheets of paper in the corner? To instantly save images and make them into a gif at any framerate? To have your brushes there with a tap instead of having to go through your pencil bag and stab yourself with a compass? To be able to have number values assigned to color instead of having to just eyeball it? To have tricks of digital art that feel like cheating? Why would anyone want to go back unless it's insistence upon a particular medium (claymation, hand-drawn, etc.)? Unless you just LIKE the grit of chalk all over yourself and having to fuck with paint and primer and shit or something about the process itself I don't get it.
>>
>>83438895

those tablets look awesome, but im just a hobbyist. i feel like those pricey tablets are more geared towards professional artists or more serious artists, than a guy that draws here and thee like me. like i said im an autismo for physical tangible media, feels like i really own it or created it. nonetheless digital artist are as talented as analog artists. i do see the benefits of digital way easier to fix mistakes and it is a tidier and cleaner experience. maybe if i really get into art like i once was id give digital a shot but lack of time and other hobbies have ate up the time i once had for creating art, i am trying to make it my main hobby again.
>>
>>83439195
Sometimes it's better to keep things as a hobby and not get too serious about it. Feels like it might turn some hobbies into a chore and kill the fun you experience from it. That's how I think anyway, others I'm sure feel the opposite.

Good morning! What are you guys up to today? I'm mostly just tying up loose ends this weekend before the long drive to spend Christmas with my family. Looks like it's going to be a relatively warm Christmas, not that I'm complaining. I can't stand cold weather.

Earless monitor lizard (Lanthanotus borneensis)

Even the best tech doesn't feel as good as drawing with something physical, digital STILL has a disconnect, a slight lag or it feels like youre drawing with a sheet of ice between you and the page. I know a lot of pros who will use digital for whatever the final project is, but for planning, process or just themselves will draw traditionally. I even know some who just scan things in at the end and then adjust the colours before posting.
Also if you look on twitter or insta or whatever, if something is drawn traditionally it gets like a 20% buff to likes. People LIKE seeing pens and pencils and things on paper. Even more so now that AI slop is flooding everything everywhere.
>>
>>83439620
Tourists and crowds suck ass. Even going to simple places like the zoo or an aquarium, I make sure I go during school time, and then hope they don't have a field trip there. Really helps cut down on the people and I can more leisurely take my time seeing everything.
>Even the best tech doesn't feel as good as drawing with something physical
What if you did a middle ground where you scan it and draw digitally for things not as important, corrections, etc.? Kinda shoot for the best of both world's situation.

Yeah I know a lot of people who mix and match. I do all my painting digitally because it saves me so much time and money that would otherwise be spent on paints, masking fluid, trying to get a good photo of a finished painting etc. But people still love to see traditional stuff, and I don't know if sketching and linework stuff will ever feel as good digitally as it will traditionally.
Idk what to compare it to, maybe the difference between playing games on 200 ping vs being at a LAN party with no delay whatsoever. You can do both but you can feel the groove so much better with one of them.

I know this all too well from the early 2000s. The only real internet in the area was shit and if anyone was downloading something at the same time, prepare for lag like never before. Still had some great times on Xbox Live though with Halo 2, Counter-Strike, and a few others.

I found another acceptable honey producer but I'll probably never try their honey. It would cost $13 to ship a $25 jar of honey to my house. There's nothing unique about their honey either. I may have already found the best ones but I'll keep searching just in case.

So far their honey seems to be the best overall. Other honeys are more appealing to my senses but they cost a lot more. Some are only sold in low quantities too, so you can't even reduce the cost per pound by buying in bulk. I got an email back from the amish honey guys today and I was right to be suspicious. They do in fact store their honey without air conditioning in a barn after harvesting it, which likely gets very hot in the summer. They're in California and Pennsylvania

No. I've only had Pure Southern Honey, Wee Bee Honey, and White Gold Honey. So far I've emailed 51 honey producers asking about their honey. Amish honey in general is probably mostly fine since some of it is harvested in the spring and fall. I also don't know how long their average honey is stored in a barn before being sold to customers. The degree of heat and length of exposure to it make a big difference. That being said, the particular Amish honey I was looking at is very expensive. There are cheaper honeys that I'm much more confident in. One good thing about this Amish honey is that they have a ton of different varieties that are hard to find elsewhere. It seems like most honeys are made with clover, alfalfa, orange blossom, and local wildflowers

Don't modern mermory card games (as in switch and switch 2) build in such small technology that they rot with time ? Like the SSD.
I know the old pokemon gba games are made in a tech node that will last virtually forever if the battery doesn't leak, same for N64 and Super Nintendo cartriges.
Anyway, anons take care of your precious data! And if you have cherished photos not only backup them, but have them printed/developed! Physical photos do last at least a century!

You're the Anon with the back injury, right? This is important enough that I want to answer you with deliberation rather than flippantly. This is gonna come across as cliche, but you really do have to find something to live for.
What do you do when you're procrastinating or dicking off the stuff you *should* be doing? That's what makes your soul resonate. My thinking is that you should look into that. If civil engineering truly appeals to you in that way, then go for it. But if not, or if you're going for it for the money, or the prestige, or to do something with yourself, or to make something of your intelligence, the don't. Use that money you have to last you a few years and start soul-searching now rather than multiple years into pursuing something you won't want to see through. Stop and look around now, without even the noise of looking for a new job. Just be. Find what truly vibes with YOU, and pursue that unashamedly.
Civil engineering is a professional degree, no? You're thinking of pursuing a tough-to-obtain degree that there will be stiff competition for, and of doing so with the tremendous disadvantage of your back injury, and to do it while competing with a cohort of students from around the world who don't have back injuries, with the condition that if you fail you die. Not a good plan. Professional degrees, like law and medicine and engineering, are not simply a matter of mastering the material. By their very nature (curves, limited seating, etc.), they are competitions, and the competitors with advantages aren't always the brainy ones.

You can get weeded out because the class tacitly assumes you don't have to work or feed yourself. You can get weeded out because everyone else has a meal plan, a car, clean clothes, and Daddy's credit card while you're broke, hungry, and living off campus. You can get weeded out because the people you're being curved against had the luxury of being placed in a dorm full of insomniac scholars while you got roomed with Boozehound Brad.

You're not all taking the same test. That'd be like saying "Everyone has to do the same 20 pushups" but a tiny group gets to use preworkout and their time and one guy gets singled out to get kicked in the ribs 14 times during the pushups and has a time limit. Just because you're as strong as the others doesn't mean you'll be able to win this pushup competition. It's rigged. It's rigged, and you have a disadvantage that will rob you of your focus during the acts of SITTING and STANDING. A spinal injury will affect how you get around campus. It will cause you to expend mental energy, which your competitors do not have to expend, just to get around, eat, rest, take a shit, etc. Your test grades will be curved against the grades of dudes who have the luxury of an intact body that actually feels good to inhabit.

ANON WHAT THE FUCK WHERE DO YOI GET THESE IDEAS
>>
>>83443885
>>83444298
The damage that your shell has sustained is such that it will affect things people take for granted. Shit like leaning forward to look at a screen. Don't stake your life on something like being a civil engineer. You're perfectly worthwhile with or without whatever title some institution wants to give you in recognition of it.
I believe that you're smart enough to be a civil engineer, or at least to learn the academic material necessary to qualify you for such. But getting a professional degree tests things apart from smarts, or draws upon things apart from smarts, things like finances and free time and the vigor of a human body, in its 20s, still able to pull all-nighters.
I'm not saying this to discourage you or to be a dick. I just would hate the idea of you basically being graded poorly for having a broken back (which is what it would amount to, in the same way that kids with shit home lives are technically, but not explicitly, graded poorly for having poor living situations) and thinking that they're grading your academic ability. They're not. Don't leave your life in the hands of some institution that would be happy to accept your money and then not give you support while actively working to disadvantage and weed you out. They do it to all the "nontraditional students," and you would be one. I'd hate for you to stake everything on this only to find that you've softlocked yourself. Breathe.
You need to find something worthwhile to you. Something you'd die for. I think of how Togashi, the author of Yu Yu Hakusho and HxH, also has a fucked-up back and has to draw lying on his back, or how people variously starve or destroy themselves for their art. (Even people who love art hate and suffer through the shitty parts of art.) There's no path ahead that doesn't involve suffering. The suffering has to be worth it.
>>
>>83443885
I'm getting a GED next year too anon, check out the getsummath youtube channel, it's actually not that hard. Also you can cheat on the exam because it's on a lockdown browser(just don't look down, because then they'll instantly disqualify you). Good luck, god bless. I'll be going for accounting as my degree.
>>
>>83444316
Also, you don't really need a plan that covers you for the rest of your life. Find something that makes you think about sticking around for just a year or two, and then do it again. Don't think you have to find something that makes 50 years of suck worth it. Find something that makes waking up tomorrow worth it, and then find that again.
It really doesn't matter what it is, either. It could be watching cartoons or painting or making fucking beats to listen to or whatever. If it keeps that bullet out of you, it's something precious. And just so we're clear, it should be a selfish decision. You shouldn't be making decisions like this to please anyone else or prove yourself to them. You owe them nothing.
Life's short as it is, Anon. You ought to drink deeply of it.

I do that more than I should. I know I should just wait and use the bathroom, but decide to sleep it off instead. Then you wake up and have to destroy a toilet. I now understand why people keep a bottle of Pepto on hand.
>>
>>83446176
It gave me fucked-up dreams, too. I dreamt that my dad was the dad from Malcolm In The Middle and that there was some kind of threat in the neighborhood that I had to handle myself because Malcolm's dad was standing outside chumming it up with the cops while it happened. They just stood there and had "dad talk" or "bro talk" going back and forth about guns while shit went down. I can barely remember the rest of it but I'm pretty sure I had to kill the Night Stalker with a handgun while Hal was out front laughing and talking about dad stuff and guns with the cops, who were just doing dad talk back and chumming it up. It was actually a super-anxious and cynical feeling dream and I woke up feeling like "Fuck, my brain does not feel secure about SHIT." Then I blew up the bathroom.
Point was, I went to bed with hiccups and heartburn. Basically used the unconsciousness of sleep as my emergency exit for having to experience indigestion. Ugh. It actually did mess with my dreams. I thought that was just a trope people mentioned in books and movies. As I sat there, my stomach gurgling like a cauldron, my mind kept repeating that line of Scrooge's from A Christmas Carol:
>"You may be an undigested bit of beef, a blot of mustard, a crumb of cheese, a fragment of an undigested potato"
Picrel, he kept making this face while screams erupted from the nearby houses
>>
>>83446231
At least you remember your dreams after you wake up, I rarely remember anything after I wake up. The one I do remember was a fever dream when I was sick and had my dad at the table working on a coloring book. Made no sense, since he's dead and never did a coloring book that I can recall.

It's because of stress. And boredom too. I don't know what to do. It's a better way to release stress IMO than what my friends do. My friends get angry and damage and release frustration on others or break up glass.

Most /ssg/ anons have known me for a decade as Makeranon. I had to go back to being a med wagie because life got expensive.

I am dead-to-nuts certain I have helped robots that post on this board. I've tried to hint I'm a robot as well, but none reacted. They're probably worried about the reason they came in (for obvious reasons) and ignored my "clues." We're not alone, frens.

Not possible as 99% of r9k is now normies. The odds of being in the same area as the remaining 1% of actual robots is almost as low as me finding a gf.

>>It's honestly insane how a single screwdriver, or the lack thereof, can cause a task to stall out for weeks. You look at the last screw you need to twist. It has a fucking pentahead. Fuck. FUCK. You consider using a really tiny flathead, putting it between two of the grooves, and trying to get a bite anyway. That screw hasn't rotated since 1996. It doesn't budge. You look online. The tool you need won't be here today even if you order it now. FUCK. You try to use the wrong screwdriver again. This time, you manage to eat away so much of the screwhead that it can't be bitten at all anymore. *FUCK*
Yeah, I remember this happening when I had to figure out how to open my CPU case. Tools are lifesavers. I have no idea why boomers outsource every issue to other people instead of making us do it, it used to be more common to get kids to do basic tasks like working on the home. Only farmers get their kids to do that still from my belief.
>>
>>83446840
>I have no idea why boomers outsource every issue to other people instead of making us do it
I think this was more because from 1980 to 1995 they passed a bunch of child related acts, which gave police and CPS broader power if called to take action against parents.
>>
>>83446856
>Yeah, I remember this happening when I had to figure out how to open my CPU case.
LMAOOO, bro, you know what's funny? I didn't pull that scenario out of nowhere. I spent the last week with like half a dismantled CPU just sitting in my room.
It makes me think of how screwed (pun not intended but possibly not coincidental given my subconscious) we'd be if one generation of people stopped knowing how to make tools. Or the machines that machine the tools. You kinda just assume your dad or whoever has the right tool lying around, but like 9 Philips heads later you're like "oh shit, I'm glad nobody's life depended on this."
And now you have to figure out how to remove a screw with a head that you basically hand-machined the fuck off.

4chan was mainstream-enough for middle schoolers to tell middle schoolers about it through word-of-mouth in 2008. /b/ already had a mythologized front-facing reputation as le super seecrit hacker lulzy club with memes. There were already YouTubers mentioning it. Even the golden age I'm nostalgic for was already 4chan being leaked and compromised to a bunch of newfags. Namely, me. It already wasn't a secret club. Even the days of caramelldansen, of YouTube poops, of longcat and Osaka and DESU DESU DESU, were already the days of OG 4chan being gone.
As for /r9k/, it is what reddit often clwims to be. It's the front-facing end of the jnternet and culture. Or it was for a minute. Look at how many neologisms this place and places adjacent to it spawned. The effect this place has had on the world's consciousness at large is insane.
>>
>>83446945
To be fair, instead of most things using phillips head or flathead screws, they should use torx-style screws (aka jew screws), just because they're far less likely to strip and you get better torque. The problem is, then you need to buy a set of torx screwdrivers or bits.

Pretty much every household had a TV when boomers were born. 75% had one in the 50s and by 1970 it was 95%. They grew up on TV & newspaper news. Millennials had other shit to spend their time doing since video games hit their peak, VHS & DVD movies were skyrocketing, and they had a fuckton more channels that weren't just hours and hours of the news across <10 channels.

I dunno but frankly I am flabbergasted at it. Really add up how much time people from those generations in your life spend consuming totally passive media. Younger generations spend plenty of time looking at screens, too, but it's different. The nature of social media and video games and streaming is interactive. You play with it. It talks back. It challenges you. You affect it.
No, really. Actually add it up. You guys live with them, or around them, right? How much time do they spend just watching TV or movies? Actually add up the hours. Do it and really let that sink in.

Taco Bell is like my favorite fast food place off the bat even before I became a vegetarian but it's doubly good now because they let you sub out meat for beans on pretty much anything to make it veg friendly. My regular go-to meals are either the Mexican Pizza combo or the chicken chalupa combo (subbing the meat on both for black or refried beans depending on my mood), a side of cheesy fiesta potatoes or nacho fries, and either a baja blast or an unsweet tea (with no ice of course) to drink. My hack with the unsweet tea is that when I take it home I squeeze half a lemon into it, cut the squeezed half into a couple chunks (minus the peel) and throw it into the tea as well and then I'll leave it in my fridge overnight so I have a nice lemon tea to bring to work in the morning. Every once in a while I will try out their special items too, I'm a pretty big fan of the cheesy gordita crunch when it comes back among other things although there's the eternal joke about how everything Taco Bell does is the same 4 base ingredients served a different way kek

Lucky. I can't trust the ones around here to give enough of a shit.
>try to order veg at taco bell
>not even a substitution, just one of the items marked with a big green V on the menu
>driving home, unwrap the shit, take a bite at a stoplight, retch
>could swear there's bacon bits or some shit in here
>I can't even fucking tell because the taste of flesh is a memory almost two decades old at this point but this shit doesn't taste right and it just FEELS forlornly like flesh in my teeth
>ew, fuck this
>throw the whole thing away and relentlessly rinse my mouth out
>try the other taco bell in town, try separate items
>it keeps fucking happening
>not every time, but I swear meat bits make it in a few times
>either that or I'm hallucinating meat in it hard enough to make it fucking inedible to me
>decide I'm not gonna get taco bell if it's gonna be a gacha roll on whether I get food I can eat or not
I think maybe the Taco Bell franchises in town just don't give a fuck and cross-contaminate a lot. It's a shame. In the city where I went to college, Taco Bell was perfect late-night fare for herbivorous folk like myself. Now I'm stuck looking sideways at a fucking fiesta bean and rice. I really think it is just these Taco Bells.

There's a shitload of veggies on /r9k/, most of whom self-consciously and sheepishly avoid self-announcing it to avoid being THAT guy and perpetuating the stereotype. We are herbivore males, after all.

I have been fucked over at least three times over the past decade specifically by specifically the night shift people at my local place (I usually only go there during daytime and that shift is good every time). Usually what I have happen is they get the main course right, but they'll still end up putting meat on the side tacos for some reason but I've had at least one time where I bit into my Mexican Pizza and was greeted by a massive chunk of what I think was chicken before realizing the entire thing had the chunks so they really just didn't gaf at all about the substitution request... hmmm idk what else could be giving you that flavor/texture if it's meatless maybe it really is cross contamination I've def been to locations when out of town that looked way shittier than mine.

No im not fine with that either, but the alternative is I grow my own food and make my own clothes and electronics and thats just out of the realm of possibility. Theres a lot of injustice in this world that wont stop whether or not I contribute to it. My point to you was I dont put animal suffering above human suffering, but I can at least not contribute to it willingly except when I have to or when I get selfish enough to do it anyway because I cant give up having a pizza or needing or wanting some new electronic or clothes. I dont look down on people who dont care and eat whatever and buy whatever of course, people have their own free will and make their own choices, and mine is to be more vegetarian than not.

Bro never attacked you. Just mentioned tangentially that he liked Taco Bell for their vegetarian offerings. There's no reason to begin a full scan for moral hypocrisy.
I've also never seen the unprompted "but you participate in unethical things, too" schtick come from somebody who was themselves committed to ending slavery or human rights violations in any substantial way. It'd be one thing if the guy saying "But you participate in slavery" was boycotting slave-made goods the way that the vegetarian boycotts flesh, but realistically it's always a hypothetical ideal that they get the luxury of appealing to, and of comparing against a real and imperfect person's practiced self-denial. Somehow a vegetarian is never compared against a real person. Instead, everybody gets to compare them against this morally-upright hypothetical person who doesn't participate in any of the evils they benefit from.
It's the same with his entire practice of living. The vegetarian never gets asked what the ethical thing to do would be in the reality he finds himself in. Somehow, it's always this cartoonish hypothetical wherein he's stranded on a desert island, or the grid collapses, or he's transported to the arctic and there's only beef jerky to eat.
The fun part about this is that he doesn't have to attack or judge anyone in order to elicit this treatment. Just *finding out* that he doesn't eat flesh is enough. Even politely ordering a salad instead of a steak has to be done such that you don't use the V-word, because if you do, suddenly you're in a philosophical debate. Now everyone is an expert on nutrition, on agriculture, on biochemistry, on evolutionary anthropology, on ethics, on animal husbandry, and on the vegetarian himself. Suddenly everyone has a bone to pick. So the vegetarian avoids self-announcing or preaching until it would be awkward or rude NOT to mention it.
There is no winning.
>>
>>83448517
Never said he attacked me, and I didn't attack him. I never compared him against anyone else, just himself. Not a philosophical debate, just wondering why he holds animals above humans. He said he doesn't, and I proved it was a lie by his own actions.

I'm the other guy but I'm a vegetarian too and I've personally kept a double-digit number of people out of body bags by my own hand and I'm really really proud of it. Smug, even. I 1000% go out of my way to do right by humans, too. Deadass.
If I'm talking to some guy who separates conjoined twins for a living or invented a new mechanical heart or whatever, or at least to somebody who actually boycotts all the things he points to as evidence of the vegetarian's hypocrisy, then that's one thing. But again, why is it that the vegetarian, imperfect and human as he is,(or hell, even somebody who recycles or tries to do ANYTHING decent) always has to be compared against a person's hypothetical ideal of what a truly ethical person would do, rather than against what that person actually does? Aren't they usually just being called out as hypocrites by someone who does everything unethical they do, plus one extra thing?
What is the point of this knee-jerk reaction people have where they try to defeat or undermine or outsmart or expose someone the INSTANT they use the V-word?
All I said was, "No thanks, I actually don't eat meat." We could have left it at that. It always turns into a podcast-tier debate somehow.
Jesus, dude.
>>
>>83448630
>why is it that the vegetarian, imperfect and human as he is,(or hell, even somebody who recycles or tries to do ANYTHING decent) always has to be compared against a person's hypothetical ideal of what a truly ethical person would do
Again, I never compared him against another person, just himself. He made the claim, I challenged it, and proved he was lying by pointing out his own actions. Not once did I compare him to a hypothetical ideal.
>What is the point of this knee-jerk reaction people have where they try to defeat or undermine or outsmart or expose someone the INSTANT they use the V-word?
Didn't happen. If someone makes a claim, they should be able to defend it. If they can't then they can either admit their claim was wrong or they can change whatever is necessary, so the claim is true. In this case, it would be to either admit that he treats animals better than humans or simply change his actions when it comes to human suffering.

See picrel.
This post is in response to him replying to two other vegetarians with "Hey, good to see you, too, nice streak bro" and "Yeah they screw up my order too sometimes." All he did was mention that factory farm videos swayed him emotionally.
That, on its own, was enough to evoke, "I'll never understand why vegetarians and vegans put animals on the same level as humans while simultaneously not even giving a shit about humans."
You 1000% said that he didn't give a shit about other humans. You said it in response to him offhandedly mentioning to another vegetarian that factory farm videos disturbed him. You did, in fact, attack him, in a vacuum as someone who didn't give a shit about humanity, and as a hypocrite for caring about animals too much in proportion to that ostensible callousness. You interjected this into a brief and harmless "Oh hey, you too? Hi!" vegetarian circlejerk.
This kind of shit is why I legit don't tell anyone outside of a need-to-know basis IRL. It really does evoke this on-sight treatment for zero reason at all.
I'm gonna stop participating in this one since it's palpably not very cheerful or Christmasy, but you really did call him callous towards humans over nothing. It's not even up for debate, the post is right here and the literal meaning of the words you typed in that order isn't malleable as-needed.

I made it by finding random images and putting them all together after editing them. I also made the image and this thread for Gooner / Fart anon, because I saw him wanting to make a thread a few threads ago, but the new thread was taken. I themed it after things I have seen him say (gooning, farts, and added a Christmas theme too).

No, but I hope he likes it. I might make a thread for another anon I saw who wants one if I am here again when a new thread is needed.

Technically we are in an interglacial period, which is a naturally occurring thing, so temperatures will get warmer on average.

yes, was using that to hold it together for a while, but just wasnt enough, i just had the back ripped off instead at this point

Still want to get things done before bed but I'm flat as fuck rn
>>
>>83450461
I won't judge. My room is jank, too. But you should install a spine of some kind or a brace if you expect that to work for you. Even a net of interlaced bungees would be better as support than a broken chair back held up by one bungee and hope.
>>
>>83450489
i just gave up and ripped the back off, just broke the other arm and most the screws were ripped out so it really felt like a lost cause at that point

>put animals on the same level as humans
Whilst I am a devout Catholic, I still acknowledge that in the end we are all animals just the same and that all life is a cherished and loved creation of the lord. I'm not against hunting or genuine humane sustainable fishing and such even though I choose not to partake, I am against the total abomination that is factory farming.
>They're animals and would gladly kill and eat you if given the chance
The difference is we have the biological ability to and the heightened intelligence to be able to make decisions to preserve life where possible and such. Yeah a starving animal will preserve itself before something else but humans are the exact same way yet under normal circumstances most predatory animals avoid healthy prey and will go for weak or sick individuals which helps the group of prey animals as a whole and is in the end part of a mutually beneficial cycle in a way. Everything keeps itself in check and balance. Modern humans are completely oblivious to the fact that just because you live in a city doesn't mean you do not still impact and exist alongside nature. Also lets not forget that under proper management farming of crops is significantly more efficient per acre and has a much lower carbon footprint and drain on water resources than farming livestock.
