Nothing you can do will change their mind. My dad has had a heart attack and his doctors told him to quit smoking. He stopped smoking for a whole week after he had that heart attack so he can definitely be scared into quitting, but once the fear subsided he went right back to smoking a pack a day. He also never has any money, and any money he gets most of it goes to cigarettes. I've begged him to stop, I've even bought him patches and shit and he just doesn't WANT to quit. So I've come to terms that my dad probably won't live much longer.

My own father quit (very proud of him for that) but many of my relatives still do it, even during pregnancy. They also do it inside rooms with closed windows because they don't care about how non-smokers feel about it.
