Does anyone on here want to build a log cabin with me? I am 100% serious about this btw.
>>83449769Nope. Logs settle and dry differently and you will always have gaps for rodents to get in
>>83449781>always have gaps for rodents to get inLess grocery bills then LOL!But seriously if you don't want to live a survivalist lifestyle that don't bother responding to this thread.
>>83449802Most wood/lumber leaves the factory after being kiln dried. Hand cut Logs dont
>>83449825Thats not an impossible thing, you sound like my father
>>83449769I have zero experience and am a little bitch made, is that fine still?
>>83449769This is the dream I'm working towards in the next few years, and I wish you well. But I need a smol girl to take care of the chickens instead.

>>83449898>I have zero experience and am a little bitch made, is that fine still? If and only if you go to carpentry school with me. >>83449920Good luck!>>83449940Yes_Chad.jpg
>>83449769I would like to build a cabin. But by myself, for myself alone.I'd go full Kaczynski minus the fun packages if I could afford land innawoods.
>>83449797>if you're not a survivalist don't respond!!>>83450030>i don't actually have any survival skills you need to take classes with me
>>83449781Log cabins have chinking, there are no gaps big enough for rodents unless you want there to be. They also don't really settle. Round peg plus round hole pretty well keeps things in place.>>83449825Hand cut logs leave however you want. Air dry, kiln dry, even a big ass industrial microwave if you want. You are only limited by time, space, and budget. Japanese timber framing typically uses dry posts and beams.
>>83449769I'm interestedI don't have much experience with lumber but I'm willing to learn.Where are you located?
Can you describe the log cabin you want to build? There's a lot of factors and it is interesting to see what people are thinking when they express an interest in this kind of thing.I like the idea of reciprocal log roof. Maybe with a big lantern in the center and some way of opening and closing to facilitate ventilation. Roundhouses in general are cool. One dude really stretched the definition of yurt but built wooden roundhouses he called yurts. One was something insane with three stories and 70' diameter. I'm afraid of fire so I'm drawn to hyperadobe and earthbag type construction and something similar to icf decking for the roof and some type of geopolymer tile. Concrete can be sealed but Asian tile roofs look cool so might as well go for cool looks.
>>83449769NoI wouldn't mind having a log cabin though but with a 4channer sounds like some horror story where my body parts are found in the walls many years later.
>>83449769Are you bankrolling the endeavor, OP?
>>83450775He's the faggot that wants to cuddle with autistic slave boys. He'll just rape you in the woods.
>>83450785isn't it weird he wants slave boys but is too scared of sex to say that?
>>83450785That sad, I hate faggots, man.
>>83450775Logs are free, goober. They don't just grow on trees they're actually made of them. You know, those big stick-y things you drive past thousands of every day. Upon applying a saw or axe to them they become logs.
