on an anonymous board, you can only judge the content of someone's post, not who they are as a person.99% of posts here suck, so it's completely reasonable.

i've been here since '14 or so. not oldfag of course, close to tourist, but it's a while. i've used a whole bunch of different boards with quite different culture and activity. i feel confident saying that quality of posts and discussion is inversely correlated with levels of random hostility.

people are generally nicer if you are dismissive and hostile but project authority first. they also respond really well if you are unmoved by their hysterics but then compliment them later based on something they said or thought. arcanine seems to have gotten far more emotional in sixteen-seventeen years which is disappointing but it was like this the entire time. anyone semi-normal or competent has left long ago unless they pop in for nostalgia.
