If I had to extract correct information I would use pretty standard interigation techniques. HOWEVER, If I needed them to say something incriminating or confess to stuff but the quality of the information doesn't matter then torture is a valid tactic. My method would depend on if modifying the device is acceptable, and if the person being tortured has to remain presentable afterwards. >IF no modify and must not injure thenI would place the subject in a stress position after prolonged isolation. I would force their face on to the device and bind them to it. I would then lie to them about what the device did. Saying it produced directed burst of radiation or something. I would tell them if they did not tell me what I wanted to hear they would get a dose. I would then explain in detail the horror of death by radiation poisoning.Then how even the device on it's lowest setting dramatically increased the cancer rate of those in direct contact with it while it's in operation. How it's a aggressive cancer that eats away the flesh and brain slowly and painfully over the coarse of months. I would show the subject horrific photos to drive home my point. If the subject still didn't say what was needed I would have everyone but the subject suit up in lead aprons and other protective gear, then painfully tighten the bindings of the subject to the device and turn it on it's lowest setting to rattle them a bit. I would then make a big show of scanning the room with fake radiation detectors going off and the like. I would tell the subject there still might be hope if I gave them special iodine tablets and got the subject immediately into decontamination. I would then unstrap them and leave them in isolation for another day or so to let their mind destroy it's self with worry.
