The painful part for me is realizing that going through years of social interactions now would be gruelling to balance on top of normal adult life.Furthermore, achieving an acceptable level of social skills will take me a long time to reach (probably multiple years), all the while normal people are currently pairing off already at my age. I will be left with the worst of the lot, therefore, by having to wait to do the same (assuming normal, decent-quality people pair off sooner rather than later).
