What's so bad about spending your life on videogames & Anime? If I enjoy my life, isn't that all that matters?

These things low addiction rate, but high dosage, a gamer or a weeb doesn't just play or watch, they spend a large amount of their free time dedicated to these hobbies.Which is, again, normal. Everybody has vices, and usually they spend a lot of time on them. What matters is can you live the rest of your life without difficulty too? If videogames and anime are eating into your socialization, your work, your exercise, your diet, your sleep, and/or your sex life, then yeah - your addiction is becoming a crutch and you're suffering for your addiction, it's not helping you live life. On the other hand, if you got everything else in a manageable state, when you sit down to relax, it will be that much better and more fun.

>>83465437I know what this anon means. For me it was around 2009 I realized most new video games are not fun to play anymore. I still get joy from watching good anime but most video game's gameplay feels like a chore not fun. After the 6th generation game developers just lost the sauce on fun gameplay and games became a fancy art project that happens to be interactive. They're just not my cope of choice.
Because doing things you like that aren't productive leaves you destitute the moment those things stop being enjoyable. It's why normalfags romanticize hard work, even when it's totally miserable it still leaves them with capital, connections, education, or experience. It rarely really leaves them with absolutely nothing when they decide to shift their life.It's why a healthy lifestyle needs to veer towards fulfillment rather than hedonistic pleasure. You can hope that you'll never outgrew enjoying consumerism day in and day out, and maybe you won't. But if you suddenly find yourself in that position, you'll be in a similar position to everyone else without any of the tools developed over a lifetime to mitigate your suffering.
