I almost don't want to celebrate Christmas next year. I'm a broke bum NEET and can't buy people the gifts I want to, and that's all Christmas is about these days. I was looking through old photos the other day and kept seeing church photos I took on my old ipod and phones from over a decade ago when I was still a catholic, and it made me really think of how fake the holiday feels to me. Maybe not fake but disingenuous and performative. I rarely ever see any of my family, I have no money to spend, and I'm not religious, so why should I participate? It would save my family money too.
