Are rats good pets? They creep me out.

If they creep you out maybe you shouldn't get one
>>

I used to have two and they were wonderful. Smart, pleasant-mannered even.

i find then pretty (just like jewish girls with their cute noses) but to me only dogs are worth due to their long lifespan, having a rat is like cuckold, you fall in love and then the next day boom, your bitch is gone.
can't afford to care about something so the next day they are dead.

But maybe I'm missing out.

All I know is they seem cute, the males got massive balls, and they don't live long

i don't want to handle the responsibility and eventual grief of having and losing a pet rat so i sometimes go to the park and throw peanuts at squirrels

i think rats are very cute though, it's the high point of my day when i see them crawling around on the subway

How often do you bathe yourself?

about once a week why do you ask?
>>
>>83468167
Not really, no. They're manageable but not really the best of pets. If you want a manageable pet then just go for a reptile, it'll live longer(depends on the species) and you'll need to feed it less often.

They're sweethearts and in the short time I co-owned rats with the ex (the only good part of the relationship) I grew to care for them deeply. Picture not related its some random ratto image I saved, might have even been from an r9k thread.

they're really good pets while they last, but because they're smart and sociable you do need to give them a nice cage where they have a family and toys and you play with them
>>
>>83468336
Family? How many do they need?
>>
>>83468227
aw
makes me miss dumbo
i had an oversized dressing gown i'd wear when it was cold, i could just stick my arm into their cage and she'd crawl into my sleeve and scamper her way up onto my shoulder
she would just sit there with her head poking out, chittering away, making me feel a little less lonely

they used to creep me out until I realized they are just trying to live their lives and desire food and companionship just like me.
