they say building arm muscle helps fix saggy arm skin but it literally has not helped. i look worse now. i want to kill myself
>>
>>83468672
i want to lose more weight but the loose skin from when i lost 80lbs just wont go away. it looked odd when i was 76kgs because my hip and rib bones poke out and then i just have these big butterfly wing arms I CANT BEAR THIS ANYMORE!!!
>>
>>83468677
obesity stains you for life man
>>
>>83468677
sadly despite what all the influencers online trying to sell products will say, loose skin isn't something that'll resolve itself
surgery seems like the only real option, but at least it is an option and an effective one at that
you could pick up weightlifting, building up muscle can fill out some of the space and improve your appearance a good bit in your arms and legs
it'll take a lot of muscle growth to get positive effects though, it is far from a quick fix
hopefully you can appreciate the other benefits of weight loss in the mean time
when i lost over 90lbs i noticed a fair few things
no longer breaking a sweat when going up the hill i'd cross regularly, sleeping better, finding it easier to buy clothes, no longer having pain in my feet, the satisfaction of carrying home multiple 2 litre bottles from the shops and thinking "fucking hell, i used to be carrying more than this all the fucking time"
it's easy to ignore or simply be dismissive of the positive impacts that losing weight has, but if you look for them, they'll be there
>>
>>83468727
ive been doing muscle building things for a while and its made 0 difference, and i dont particularly wish to be muscly honestly. a surgery to remove the skin is WAY too expensive and will leave hideous scars too... cant win.
ive lost 80-90lbs before this and saw/felt changes and i really just want to lose more now to see what id look like (and remind myself i look like shit skinny), clothing is harder when i lose weight because of my body shape and the places i lose fat from, if i got below 65kgs itd probably be impossible to find clothes in the style i wear
>>
ill finish up redo of healer and then watch either psycho pass or sunday without god afterwards
cant decide, but tomorrows christmas so sunday without god is probably better
>>
>>83468753
>cant win
may be the case
i've heard of people getting skin reduction surgery on the NHS in the UK but i don't know about upside down land, look into it, find out if it is an option
scars seem minimal and are obviously much less visible and otherwise impactful compared to the loose skin
if you don't want to be muscly, then the weightlifting route ain't the one for you
it takes some serious muscle mass to impact the appearance loose skin, to the point where that's the kind of build/appearance you've gotta lean into
going back to the can't win thing, your best approach is probably shifting the goal posts
it's harsh to say but you've done the damage, you were obese, you'll likely never be able to achieve perfection in your own eyes or reach an ideal state
so if you can't win now, if you can't get what you want, you need to change what it is you want
easier said than done i fucking well know, especially when change doesn't come quick
it's often a slow and insidious thing
but if you make a continuous effort, the goal posts will shift, you will become more comfortable with yourself
i'm throwing a bunch of shit at you without knowing the full story though, maybe your goals and expectations are realistic and those goalposts don't need to shift
that's up to you to decide
apologies for the rambling, i'm half cut right now just preaching to the void
>>
>>83468576
Give a nigga get $20 for wings
>>
>>83468876
its only for extreme cases where it limits bodily functions or whatever, so it definitely doesnt apply to me.
i want to look better and feel more comfortable in my body, and the only thing hindering that is my arms. maybe i wouldnt feel so freakish at lower weights if it weren't for my arms. i actually felt so disgusting at 76kgs that i gained 8kgs back and cured my ED at the time.
idc about staying at my comfy weight, i look fine, i still get attention, idrc about my health.
>i'm half cut right now just preaching to the void
half cut?

i know they've done it in cases where it impacts someones physical health, like you describe, but people have made the argument that it impacts their mental health and have gotten the surgery covered on that basis here in the UK
at least that's what i've had parroted to me, and now i'm parroting it to you
glad to hear that your problem area is realtively small, albeit quite visible, not so glad to hear about your lack of concern for your own health
wherever the fuck the motivation or desire to change comes from, i just hope it pushes you towards living a better and healthier life in the long run
>half cut?
pic related
have you really never heard the phrase before?
>>
>>83468958
Nta but when you said half cut, because of what board we're on, I really thought you meant you only got circumcized halfway
>>
>>83468966
love the implication of someone just sitting on r9k immeidately after getting circumsised, using said surgery as an excuse for their lengthy posts
but nah, if that was the case i'd say i got ripped off
>>
>>83468958
eh i doubt itd be like that here and i imagine itd be borderline impossible to actually get it covered on the basis of mental health.
it certainly isnt small, its big, but only truly visible when i lift my arms and hold them in certain ways, otherwise it looks ok. but it still makes me borderline suicidal lmao. also, even at lower weights i would be far from healthy considering my diet of only mac and cheese.
>have you really never heard the phrase before?
nope. i thought it was related to cocaine
>>
>>83469016
>eh i doubt itd be like that here
fuck your doubt, look into it, find the actual answer instead of letting your apathy present you with a (potentially) false understanding of reality
>it certainly isnt small
>but only truly visible when i lift my arms
i mean to say that it's physically small, not to say that the impact it has on you is small
you specifically draw attention towards your arms instead of lamenting over your body as a whole
it's a good thing in a way, not in the sense that it's positive but the sense that it could be more negative
>also, even at lower weights i would be far from healthy considering my diet of only mac and cheese
i didn't say healthy, i said healthier
life gets a little bit more bearable once you start taking relatively into account i feel
>i thought it was related to cocaine
seen that ruin too many lifes, fuck that
no clue where the meaning of half cut comes from though, now you've got me thinking about it
>>

>>83469051
ok i looked into it.
apparently they can. but like i said i also dont wanna be stuck with scarring. idk ill bring it up to my doctor ig.
>you specifically draw attention towards your arms instead of lamenting over your body as a whole
yeah, cause i love the rest of my body, i think it looks good. even if im a little fat
>seen that ruin too many lifes, fuck that
good, stay away from drugs :]
>no clue where the meaning of half cut comes from though, now you've got me thinking about it
it doesnt sound right for an alcohol term honestly, if you figure it out, tell me

nurse lolita dress was disappointing. crap quality and way too short for a petticoat, more like ero-lolita. it is still incredibly cute
>>
>>83469125
>apparently they can
see, fucking negative nancy over here
there's hope for you yet
scaring is a valid concern but i've seen a lot of post op photos of people who had loose skin reductions and it doesn't seem all too obvious to me
knowledge leads to bias, you're likely to judge yourself and your own body much more harshly than you'll judge others
and the same applies to everyone else, i don't think they'll be judging you with anywhere near as much scrutiny
i reckon there will be scars you're aware of, and you'll feel self conscious of them, but i truly believe that they won't be anywhere near as noticable to anyone else
assuming you go down that path that is
>if you figure it out, tell me
i thought it'd be related to work, like the idea of being half cut relating to getting cut from a shift because the word load has reduced
you're half cut, meaning you're drunk enough that it's noticable and you're close to getting cut off from working the rest of your shift
looking around google there's been a few different answers though, ranging from the idea that it's related to sailors mixing their rum with water to 'cut it' and the idea that it's referencing the way drunk people stumble around like their legs have been cut
>>
>>83469200
how was that negative? i dont think the word "apparently" holds any negativity at all.
i mean like i said ill ask my doctor about it. otherwise ill start cutting it off myself. maybe ill threaten it
>ranging from the idea that it's related to sailors mixing their rum with water to 'cut it'
oh wait ive actually heard this before. both ideas seem really stupid tho. theres like a million better ways to say youre drunk that make more sense lmao
>>
>>83469275
>how was that negative? i dont think the word "apparently" holds any negativity at all.
it wasn't
i didn't mean to imply that what you said there was negative, but that you were being overly negative in previous replies
>ill ask my doctor about it
hopefully it goes well and you don't have to resort to such means
>theres like a million better ways to say youre drunk that make more sense lmao
ah but it makes sense to me, and the people around me
even if the origin of the phrase doesn't
>>
>>83469303
ah ok. i understand now.
>hopefully it goes well and you don't have to resort to such means
we shall see :] i wouldnt actually do that, btw, id try other means.
>ah but it makes sense to me, and the people around me
fair enough. must be a british thing
>>
>>83469333
>i understand now.
the joys of civil exchange
>id try other means.
what ideas come to mind? because to be honest, the idea of telling your doctor that you're so distraught with your loose skin that you're thinking of trying to cut it off yourself seems like it'd be the type of thing that'd get you the surgery
>must be a british thing
yeah it is, i'm far too used to assuming that aussies will understand to relate to british things when in reality your culture is pretty different to ours
