if you were me, what path would you take Pipefitter>union protection>high pay>freedom to change cities if I want toOCS for the navy or army>lower pay but will ramp up the longer i am in>potential to be an admiral/general, which is something way more important than id ever be as a pipefitter>Lack of freedom and time to actually enjoy my life and money because uncle sam owns me at the end of the day background considerations>20 years old>going to welding school so I can work a job I don't hate while I get my degree
>>83468663>Pipefitteri went from office bitch to a tradewould recommend if you hate office drama and working with women
>>83468663Navy or army. 20 yrs. Retire. Figure out how to get 100% disability. Work government job that has pension. Retire.
Navy has gayrape, army is also gay and rapey. Best part tho is dying for Israel and everyone knowing you have big gay.
>>83468663>>potential to be an admiral/general, which is something way more important than id ever be as a pipefitterBe realistic, the chances of you getting one of those promotion slots is tiny, you're already way behind the guys in the military academies and flag officer promotions are about connections more than anything. Better to be a pipefitter and out in a few years than slog through an officer career.
>>83468783This, getting to that level of prestige is reserved for the recruits who had family in service and were in boy scouts, sports and JROTC for half of their lives. It's nice to be ambitious but it's good to be realistic
>>83468663Just become a narcissistic asshole pipeline welder . On meth
>>83468663Pipefitters union sucks actually. In my state, they'll give you a job hours away from where you live that goes on for months, and you're free to turn it down but then you go to the back of the line. Have fun spending your check living in cheap motels all the time so you can get to the job site at 7 am. Just get a plumbing license and work for a non union company
>>83469226Not that you know anyone like that, eh anon?
>>83469309I may have been a welder helper for awhile in the bakken
>>83469210my dad was a marines comms officer and I am in the army reserves right now. My ncos like me i think
>>83468663definitely pipefitterwhy would you go potentially die for some pedo chudcel politician's pockets to be filled while you start with scraps
>>83468663isn't pipe that thing people do if they literally have no other option?if i had to do things over i'd get into driving heavy machinery. i hear excavators is the worst to try because they all want someone who already done it for 10 years. but dumpers and frontloaders are easier.
Id go navy over a union desuyou have many more options serving compared to just being a pipefitter long term
>potential to be an admiral/generalbroooHere's an old slavic joke: why can't the son of a colonel become a general? Because the general too has a son
>>83468663>shinobu wearing seia's outfitvery nice
>>83469545That partially invalidates my post so therefore I will use this opportunity to post more Shinobu
might as well hijack this thread to say I can't get a job to save my life and it fucking sucks
>>83468663do the one that doesn't involve killing people
>>83472079I was like you so I accepted the first offer I got which was a production line job for minimum wagie and guess what It's so unbelievably soul-crushing and stressful I can only bearly endure it with maximum dose of antideppressants (any more and I get dizzy) and my life is so completely empty and pointless it's just toil and then lying in bed recovering energy before the next day ot toil I hate it so much, I wish I've never been born, I hope I don't wake up
>>83469682no youre thinking of ironworkers. I had multiple ironworkers tell me not to be an ironworker
>>83468663i'll fit my pipe in your ass, faggot
>>83472079education will be your best bargaining chip to a better life anon
>>83472807This anon right here is why you don't flunk high school and get a degree.
>>83472971As a plumber, I want to point out that we make this joke at least 3 times every day.
