It wouldn't even be an issue were it just a tool people used sometimes but it creates a number of problems like oversaturation of slop, literally disolving truth, increasingly realistic fakes that eventually people will allow to form their understanding of reality (which will become harder to avoid as time goes on), then of course, you're tax dollars going towards powering AI facilities, and on top of all of this, the potential for it's application in survailance state unfrastructure which is just inevitable at this point.

It's probably FAR to late to care anymore and it's probably already over. Nobodys flying F-16s to bomb AI facilities so it doesn't matter anymore. AI replaces a lot more than tumblr artists and creates a precarious situation that's maybe impossible to reverse. It's the natural course of it that it will assume it's own controll to some degree and it reproduces faster than anything in the world.

Automation = Replacement, and when you replace something and and the utility of what it replaces ceases to be, then the replacement becomes a requirement. Of course, there's a lot of nuance to this kind of thing, it's not so simple, but it's easy to see why at the outset people would think it's a dangerous idea, especially given how absolutely retarded and incapable of teleological thinking people are.

I'm not a millitant anti AI person, but I like that they exist. I think most of AI generated content is ugly and more generally, I like when I can undertand somebody through what they make.
Like even for the basedjack in OP's pic, you see what the guy who made it though would hurt trannies feeling, more so than in an ai generate image.
So I'm glad there is some social stigma to slow the innevitable takeover.
