What I don't doubt, however, is that in academia, reputations always go above the truth. If you're doing work in any field and it contradicts the big names, you're going to get blackballed when job openings or tenure come up. It's why there's that theory of generational change, which states that in academia/science, real breakthroughs happen when members of the old guard retire and younger researchers are finally able to come forward with theories and findings that they've had hidden away in a drawer for ages.Anyway, I'm just some fat fuck.
