The more insane the rules and the justification for the way they're enforced - the better. A dictatorship is sub-par, because there's no guarantee the next leader won't be some reformist faggot. In a monarchy, the monarch has a very clearly laid-out line of succession, so unless there's an insanely violent nation-wide revolution, the ruling family will stay in power and do whatever they want forever. And that's what I want, because it tickles a part of my brain that likes order and routine.
