I have friends from my job and my current gf was a former coworker (it's a terrible relationship but still, got sex from talking to women at work.)

Yes it is for the vast majority of adults. In my family, any get-together is pretty much a work party, but fewer limits on what is acceptable to pry about since there is no HR to squeal to.
