Is all that attracts people to Christianity, fear of Hell? I tried the religion out of fear of Hell and fear of punishment, I hated it. And those that are Christians, are you the type to try to please authority figures from the heart? TLDR: Christianity seems like something designed to get humans to try to be submissive to authority figures, not from the actual Creator to me after reading the Bible for thousands of hoursFrom the Bible and Religion>says some are predestined to eternal glory and others to eternal wrath of God>says we're all being punished because Adam sinned after eating the fruit from eve which eve got and ate from the serpent>infant circumcision>says God puts evil authority in power>paul commands us in scripture to submit to the governing authorities from the heart, not just obey the laws of the land against the grain if we don't like them, but submitting to authority figures from the heart. >almost all english translations ive seen translate the Bible WITH eternal torture written inI'm not submitting to any human authority, especially the goverement from the heart. At most I'll do what I don't want to obey laws not from the heart not to get in trouble or to obey a deity.>God Eternally Tortures non-ChristiansIs a common belief among Christians which is repulsiveThe entire book seems like it's trying to get me to try submitting to, as well as obey, tyrants and authority figures who do unfair thingsIf I look at the text after reading all of it critically because I don't want to go to Hell if Hell is real, I don't think it actually came from the CreatorAnother religion that caught on was Islam and Hinduism. I don't know what's in their scriptures though, i didn't read them. I've seen horrible things about the Islamic religion though, and don't like it. I'm not going to give Islam or Hinduism a chance tooDrugs are sacred to me. Theyre good medicnie. I dont think the Bible is a sacred text, but one of evil spirits and control.
>>83480905Datura is so fun
yeah so1. forgive your enemy2. give her endless health and wealth3. yeah its good like thatthank in advance
The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. Why you choose christ is so that you can be forgiven of your sins and turn away from them. Not out of fear, but to find peace.Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism. All have that element of control. You aren't the creator of reality so you must submit to He which is. Drugs don't give you freedom, nobody wants a drugged out schizo around their kids screaming about how they hate Jesus. Instead of reading "critically" which is slang for Marxist deconstruction, try reading the Word as if it were written by the Creator. Because it was, and Jesus Christ not only was a real man, but He is the Son of God. The one and only. Follow him, turn from your sins, and you will live forever in bliss.
It isnt about "religion" you aren't here to make Father happy through some ritual. Or doing the right sacrifice. It's about having a relationship with the Father. To be on the Way, to follow and obey Christ. Has little to do with "religion" that's a box you're forcing it into, when it is not alike the others.
yeah give ur heart and time and trust out for free, thats the high iq jewmove. congratulation s
>>83480932It's a hardcore deliriant that makes you hallucinate things not there. I would avoid it cause it's a form of anticholinergic poisoning. The cure though is cigarettes. Which surprising people hallucinate smoking cigarettes if they happen to be smokers.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u12SZAyMp54
>>83480968>>83480956It's about the spirit that wrote the Bible controlling followers through obedience and obedience to the state in my opinion.I've read it thinking it was from God and critically.I don't think the text is from God personally because of how the religion seems to be majorly eternal torture not universal reconciliation and the stuff I listed plus others. There's also the command in the old testmaent (same deity) for female rape victims to marry their rapist in old testment times, and I think children who disobey their parents get stoned. When Spirits are giving out the death penalty and telling people to kill each other or that people are going to burn eternally it gets tricky because spirits can lie and do magic and miracles unlike us.It's incredible deceptive for a bad deity to heal people then order all the obedience to the state and instill the fear of eternal torture (Or worse, people will be happy others are eternally tortured if they're especially evil)I don't believe the Biblical god is more than something than a really powerful deity but not the first being to ever exist. I don't think they're the Creator.
>>83480905>Is all that attracts people to Christianity, fear of Hell?It is part of it, of course. But another part is the person of Jesus. I relate to him, because I've been betrayed for having too kind of a heart, as well. Mind you, he was not only killed but crucified for it. People do not understand the horror of this. Jesus was the son of god, because he was not willing to abandon his humanity. Very admirable to me. I've not seen this in anybody else. >And those that are Christians, are you the type to try to please authority figures from the heart?I'm an anti-social sociopath. >says some are predestined to eternal glory and others to eternal wrath of GodIt is true. Look at the world. There are people that are given everything at their birth. They've never had to work for it. They've never had to suffer. They were predestined to live an easy, comfortable life. >says God puts evil authority in powerThat is a fact. Authority is always evil. Why? Because you're only in power, if you had been willing to betray everything and everybody for it. And you see it in the world that we live in. >paul commands us in scripture to submit to the governing authorities from the heart, not just obey the laws of the land against the grain if we don't like them, but submitting to authority figures from the heart.I accept that these people are in power. I'm not going to coup them. It is futile. But I do not accept their authority and they do not have my loyalty. >Drugs are sacred to me. They're good medicine. It is not medicine. It is escapism. I understand, why you take it. I do not judge. But be honest to yourself.
>>83480998The way I interpreted it is God predestines some people to damnation and others to eternal life when I read it. I read it as a literal predestination of the Creator deity that is unbeatable and unchangeable. I dislike predestination, even if im predested to have no pain, because some people are just gonna be tortures for existing. I can't fully love a deity predestining people for eternal pain. I'd seriously dislike but forgive a diety eventually if they predestined people to severe pain of those who do bad behavior with full knowledge and ability eyes wide open when the predestined people did nothing wrong them selves.>It is not medicine. It is escapism. I understand, why you take it. I do not judge. But be honest to yourself.I am fine escaping parts of this world I don't like, by using a medicine the Creator them selves invented that makes me feel good.I don't believe the Christian religion so I'm fine doing drugs like weed and cigarettes and alcohol in high amounts. Got to check my behavior on drugs though. I rarely act out and can control myself.
>>83480905Reading threads like this makes me embarrassed to have ever been a christfag.
>>83481054Why are you embarrassed?
>>83481030I think that, whether or not we want it, the world is predestined. That is what the science suggests to me.>I can't fully love a deity predestining people for eternal pain.I understand it. You are reasonable. Maybe, God is going to forgive you. I do not know.>I am fine escaping parts of this world I don't likeI do empathize with this, as well. But I want to face the truth. I need to know.
>>83480983You're afraid of it, but it makes your memory very bad. It's not that bad in hindsight
>>83480905So you eat datura instead? That stuff really scares me, one of the few I have never tried.

>>83481061not him but earlier in my life I was the early version of these vocal chrstian debaters that are popular nowadaysI was a reddit atheist too embarassed to admit it
>>83480905>Fear of Hell attracts ChristiansNope. I was a kid and I wanted to know who Jesus, like literally who he was. People talk about Jesus and God, but they never go into detail so I decided to start going to church to find the info. Decided it made sense to me so I became a Christian.>Submissive to Authority FiguresI'm contrarian by default. I do not care about politics. I do not vote. I understand that this world is not for me, and nobody in it can save nor destroy the world until it comes time. Christians are told to follow laws in the Bible, but only if they don't directly contradict the Bible. I submit to God, because he's a perfect Father and Creator, everyone submits to something in their heart.>God "tortures" Non-ChristiansNo. Humans chose to eat the fruit of knowledge of Good and Evil, when we did that we accepted the responsibility of being either Good or Evil. God is Good, but we're not perfect so we can't be like Good like God. We're destined for Hell, because of our birthright and our ancestors choices. God offers to save us from sin and eternal damnation. People who accept that gift are Christians. Hell isn't for Non-Christians, it's for people who sin and choose not to redeem themselves. Before Christ, people got to Heaven by devoting themselves to God's word and making personal sacrifices. Now it's as easy as accepting God's sacrifice.
