What's the point of history if literally everyone botches it for their own ideology?Just look at the Odyssey movie recently and fags interpreting history however they want. That happens even with "acclaimed" teachers and researchers
I understand your question. Can you phrase it differently or something?
>>83488045The historical field in general is a self-parody at this point. When I was growing up, boomers were already deriding it as the useless degree for over-educated, permanently indebted baristas. Then when I was in school it somehow degenerated even further into either clowns that believed ancient scandanavia was akshully wakanda or chudjak.png using it as a thin veneer for BILLIONS MUST DIE; hell chudface poorly regurgitating youtube historical infotainment slop is usually most kids' first exposure to the field now, not even the fucking history channel which is now on aliens ffs or the local school district's post no crack babby left behind/common core gangraped version of "history class".In the present, it's dangerous to even admit to remembering events that happened more than 2 weeks (a news cycle) ago. I really doubt there colleges will even offer history classes within the next 20-30 years. The last college history major has already been born. It's a open question whether they'll graduate with the degree or if it'll get rug-pulled while they're still in.

>>83488077I can say the same about you. These are observations I have made from being alive and existing in the real world, even in that pre-2015 pre-culture wars period zoomoids can't seem to fathom.
History is good when only academics deal with it, namely archeologist and anthropologists. There is truth in it, but on the political scene everything is upside down to manipulate masses. An average person is taught only a botched version of history
