Hypothetically, theoretically, if one(not me) were to have had a debt of, say, $7000 give or take and it were sold off to a collections agency and he(not me) then were to ignore it for around a year and a half, how much could this hypothetical person expect the debt to have grown to? Hypothetically of course

if you just ignore it you'll harm your credit score even more, depends on if you care or not.

if you do ignore it it doesn't actually matter how much the debt grows, because what you're going to do is either ignore it forever (unlikely, you might want a house or a car or something you need on credit)

OR

you're gonna call them up at some point and say you'll settle for 2k in cash right now take it or leave it.
