i joined a local shooting club and made some friends through regular attendance
signed up to be RO and one of the other RO's noticed me waiting for the bus one time and asked me where i lived, when she realised we live nearby she started offering me lifts home and now we usually schedule our shifts on the same day so she can pick me up on the way there
i think most hobby spaces could function the same
