Does anybody feel the creepiness and uncanny valley of watching things in 60fps? Why does everything feel more real I don't understand.
>>83493516I have no idea what you mean. But my dad got a 4K TV for us when we were younger but usually watches movies on his phone since he watches them in Russian. I downloaded interstellar with Russian translation and he said that it felt strange watching it 4K, like it was supposed to be a documentary rather than a movie, and that he didn't like it.
>>83493516I know what you are talking about. Shit doesn't feel like a video but like there is a person right there for real.
>>83493544>he said that it felt strange watching it 4K,Your dad gets it. It feels very unnatural and uncanny it feels overly real which you would think isnt a bad thing but it just feels weird
>>83493622>it feels overly realIdk, I like it. I don't feel like it's immersion breaking, in fact, the opposite.I remember playing GTA 4 with Fusion Fix, on 4K, 60 FPS, with RTX HDR. I was driving through a highway bridge against the sunset, it providing a orange filter. It obviously didn't feel realistic, but it literally felt like I was looking through a window, it was crazy, as if my TV was a portal to this world. I still remember how it felt, it genuinely looked like it was happening, even if the game is cartoony, outdated, and had an obvious filter.
>>83493684Thing is it only feels that way with movies, shows and music videos. I love games with high I fps I agree with everything you said
>>83493516Because real life is 60-120 fps. You seeing something that fast makes your brain think it's real vs. what you understand to be a recorded video.
>>83493544The first time I watched Interstellar I was on acid and I felt like I was intruding on people's lives, seeing things that were too personal to be shared with a stranger.
>>83493516disable interpolation
>>83494240What part of my brain do I have to electroshock to do that?
i think im too blind to even notice the difference between resolutions anymore although seing native 4k way back didn't feel right
