This will sound like ultracopium but are love and romance overrated? At least the modern "free love" boomer version of it. Boomers filled all movies and music with the idea that love is the most important thing ever and you cannot live a meaningful life without it. They ignored the inconvenient reality of incels with feel-good slogans like "there's someone for everyone" and "just put yourself out there".

Inceldom was probably much more common before urbanization (which really took of with the boomers, that's why they could build houses so cheaply). Before that people lived in isolated farms, ranches and small villages and would date whoever was available (cousins included). The people who were left over went to monasteries and convents. Life doesn't guarantee love and it doesn't even guarantee opportunities for love. I live in small, ageing and male-dominated town and I know what it's like.

So again. Could it be that "love" is simply not free and available to everyone and that some people are just destined to die alone? If so why build a culture around calling incels losers who are wasting their lives? That's like calling poor losers for not just "finding money" or calling crippled people losers for not just "walking".

You're close to the truth. Women are incapable of love and romance, incels aren't real and if you want a gf you gotta play the game.
