>>83503453The braces are only half of the work. It helps my bite but it also serves to put my jaw in the right place so that surgery can then come in and do the heavy lifting. I am extremely recessed, so braces alone cannot suffice.Also I have some slight TMJ pain issues, so I'd rather not worsen it with mewing.

Part genetic, part sucking on things too much when I was a kid. However I always had this congenitally since I always remembered having somewhat trouble with breathing through my nose, so I had to chew with my mouth open to breathe when eating until my mother forced that behavior out of me. I also very much suspect that the sucking on things aspect is what made it significantly worse than my brothers'.Also to be honest I can't kid myself, but Im kind of excited to be able to go out in public not looking like a freak after this surgery.
