do i just give up and rope? and no i don't mean i got a D or something, two big fat F grades are on the report card.
they're both related to my major. i passed the "secondary" classes (calculus and english composition) with flying colors though.
my dad is asking me to send him the report card for insurance purposes and he's probably going to kick me out when i reveal what happened.

You're done for. Even I can't think of a solution for your situation.
>>
>>83519667
either you take it as a wakeup call and get serious or you give up, the hard choice of choosing what to do is up to you and not some tard on the internet
>>
>>83519734
not even you anon!?!?! holy fucking shit

>>83519667
you should see if mcdonald's is hiring or start doing better

if you're going to kys might as well kill your dad first, he sounds like the average fat amerilard who only treats children as investments
>>
>>83520267
OP attempts this and succeeds in killing his dad but fails his suicide. Now he's in prison. Bleak.
>>
>>83520290
men dont usually fail suicide

I did the same, but was able to hide it until I finished my first year and confessed a week before my third semester. Dropped out in a month and my life has been aimless and catastrophic for the past eight years. I didn't have a plan for after I dropped out, and have since lost the will to form one. Construct a plan for your life after dropping out, multiple possible plans in case one goes awry.
Don't let your life lose direction because once you do, it's very easy to stay lost.

>>83519667
about to do the same here desu, havent been paying attention / doing coursework all term since depressed. about to go back and fail all my exams. luckily still first year

F's fall off ur transcript. If you're getting a D in the class, aim for an F because you can retake the class and it won't affect ur transcript. Ur not in the worst situation you could be in.

Honestly, I am in a similar spot to you. I took and am still taking a lot of shit, because I decided I want to try to get up to higher-level studies, research quickly for numerous reasons, but two things fell apart and in the midst of it all you do not see how badly things are not working out.
Anyways, the doctorate student I talk to sometimes told me not to despair too much. Grade replacement will kick in the first few times, and graduate schools only care about the last two years.
We do need to actually deal with our commitments though. It is not retarded to fail, but it is retarded to not take any lessons and adapt.
My general advice:
>the value of tuition is three-fourths office hours, professor access, and one-on-one tutoring. talk to prof, coerce him or her into helping you fully understand, even if it takes a while, use math and writing centers. put all of that on your calendar
>cram study does not really work ever. when something comes up in class, start checking you fundamentally get it at your earliest convenience, because prof WILL build on it and it will come up. ideally, this way, pre-exam work is extremely chill review. your worst case scenario is being completely lost in every attended lecture and not having the tools available to even formulate a question to ask
>for math and physics, do the exercises in the textbook, by homework alone you risk deadly overconfidence
>know your limits and when to fall back/cut corners in general honestly. it is not so bad to take less, take a very limited number of hard credits, or divert attention to a class less for a bit if you know you will not be blindsided. i took the project option of an six page paper i really did not need to considering the trajectory of the class and everything else going on because i wanted to force myself to "get better at writing." if i had taken the option of a five minute video presentation instead i would be likely be sitting here with a C in that class worst case.

It's weird how all of the internet is consolidating more to each person now, with algorithms and stuff. You are a YouTuber, I just know it! Would your dad... really kick you out over this; you could probably reason with your family somehow. And no, I do not have any advice except to stay in school. Assuming your parents are paying for your tuition, by the way. Good luck on your endeavors, man/anon/person.

Life Pro Tip:
You hate your life and cannot succeed at this. Whatever it is, something about this-the subject matter, the course schedule, the campus itself, the setting, etc.-is something you hate.
Take a year off. Stop spending money on classes. Stop taking out loans. Stop listening to your parents. Stop giving a shit what people think. Find a way to live that doesn't strain you half to death.
Newsflash:
None of this matters. You aren't going to do what you set out to do, not because you're strictly incapable of it, but because in 5 years you won't even want to. A grade is not worth getting kicked out over, dying over, or even stressing over. Your grades are fake unless you stay in academia forever and academia is fake.
Unironically just quit or major in something you give a shit about.
>but I DO give a shit about engineering/medicine/whatever it is
No you don't. You care about something like money, or helping people, or utilizing your intellect. You have a schema in your mind for what this job represents. You despise the mundane reality of it down to the basic core classes.
Seriously just go do something you like instead. Nobody's gonna think it's a good idea. Do it anyway. Everyone is retarded. You are, too. But you at least know you.

Update: I discussed everything with my mom and she said she's gonna not tell him until tomorrow. That insurance thing isn't due until the end of the week. She said I'm 100% going to have to get a job, which is something I'm okay with. I can drive and I do have a car.

I think I failed so badly because I didn't have any motivation. At least when I get a job (regardless of how shit it'll be) I'll have SOMETHING to look forward to. A significant amount of money will go to pay rent for my parents, but that's okay. Thank you all for the advice. I haven't murdered someone or robbed a bank, I don't know why I'm so scared.

And I forgot to mention it's a community college. Makes it even more embarrassing, but at least not much was invested. I can probably pay it back (tuition) within a month or two. Thank you all for the advice. I'm sorry.

>if you don't already, set up weekly views of what is happening and what needs to be done before the next day. split assignments you know are going to be problematic up into multi-day blocks, differentiate between what needs to be done TODAY vs things that can chill if you are ill or tired...
>
>and set per-"sprint" (pomodoro) per-day total and per-task time caps on that planner.
>it is very easy to get an illusion of being productive by staying in that library until past midnight every day, doing nothing else and ruining your mental until you step back and realize that your actual completion rate and performance is awful. you get things done by making reasonable incremental progress. if you need unreasonable time for an assignment it is a sign you have a problem and need assistance
>ideally you have read the syllabus, mapped out on a separate view what will happen as things go on and what is expected of an A-student, are skimming through textbook before classes to be on the offensive...
>
>this is a point that is far bigger than i can discuss at the length it deserves (cc: >>83520578) but if you are not healthy trying to do anything i previously discussed is completely pointless. school is expected to be a little stressful but you should not be constantly dying
>consider overstimulating yourself on the internet less, making a friend, getting into cycling or gymstuffs, taking time to clean and draw, eating well.
>use disability office, you may not consistently qualify for accommodations but they will be able to give advice on how to operate as a maybe-autist-probably-menhera. you can drop into advisor office whenever needed, even for non-official things, and school may have therapy available. and if things are really bad to the point you are basically disabled, there is no shame in declaring that to the university with the help of doc and stepping back i think. rubberstamped leave is always better than crashout
also, sleep. nigger. biological necessity.

Cloud computing/networking shit, my bad. I wanted to do agriculture or construction desu but my parents forced me to do something they thought I was good at.

>all your money will go to parents rent
and where will their money go? are your parents those kinds that expect a "return on investment" (aka having a kid)?
>>
>>83521947
what do you mean by construction anon? civil engineering?
>>
>>83521982
I have no idea, and you're right. They're Gen X so I guess that's why. They always told me they didn't want me "going down the path they did" (father works 70 hours a week, mother only has a GED). I feel horrible about it.
>>
>>83521989
Essentially, yeah. Though I also wanted to work with heavy equipment at one point, I don't really know.
>>
>>83522002
they dont care what path you go down, they probably just thought having a kid would make them money or something and now they've decided the best way to do that is being your landlord
>>
>>83521890
>I think I failed so badly because I didn't have any motivation.
I kinda get this. I did not really find much joy in uni at all for the longest time, and was planning to make enough to run out and do something else. Eventually I figured out what I actually like and want even if developing these areas requires great suffering.
I should have posted cute GLT stuff instead of various lewdstuff, btw, sorry ^^;
>>83521947
Parents can think they have the perfect roadmap for you, especially if they are poor or immigrants, but from experience you really have to not be afraid to put your foot down with things like this.
With a small amount of regard to what can financially work out for you in the future, do what you love and aim to be the best in the whole world at it.
>>
>>83522014
if what they want is for you to not hate your life doing some shitty work, it'd probably be best if you did something you at least had interest in
>>
i had to drop my math first semester, it was too hard and i decided to focus on english+major classes instead, also the teachers name translated to superdick in english and he really was one ;p, anyway maybe next time you can try paying attention to the drop add period and if your struggling again drop your worst subject before you get charged for it
>>
*i meant the math teacher
only one who i really didn't like vs others that weren't as skilled at their job but were still all and all good
