My nose job, braces, and weight loss did more to help me be taken seriously as an artist than being actually good at art. I draw anime-like style and dress eclectic, and before I got work done, I was "cringe" and "awkward" and "annoying" and nobody wanted me around. I was even told that "anime style isn't real art" and I should "expand outside anime" even though my style wasn't even that anime. People liked my art online but once they saw me in person, they started criticizing it. In real life, I never got anywhere trying to promote my art. Then after my glow up and losing weight, now I am "quirky", "artistic", and a "creative type". People in real life now find my art fun and interesting, and I featured at local conventions and small galleries, and more commissions. No one ever tells me to my face to "expand outside my interests" like I don't know what I am doing, or call me a weeaboo or my style "just anime". It helped boost my work online as well due to the word of mouth.

Like look at Guillermo Lorca's art. That's some anime loli shit, it doesn't matter how intricate and detailed and "classical" his painting style is, they're little girls with pink or green hair who are half naked around bloody animals. They're put in fucking museums. If Lorca was a fat neckbeard looking guy, his art would've been hidden away in an attic.

You want to be a successful artist taken seriously without having to fight twice as hard for half the recognition? Get hot. Hit the gym. Get that nose job and fix your teeth.

Yeah because art is fucking fake. It's about giving people, mostly women, feelings. Guillermo is a good example, if he were a fucked up little goblin of a man he'd probably have been Shut Down for being a pervert pedophile. But since he's chadlite it's obviously fine, he can get grown women he just paints this for the old school aesthetic like michaelangelo lovingly painting baby wieners on cathedrals. If you are not chad you are ngmi. For women, they're all shit artists even if they're technically skilled, it's basically human AIslop in that case but appearance matters for them all the more because of it.

The Internet is like a crack under the door to slip art through, and it should stay that way gloryhole style. If you meet these people in RL you will go insane, because they are all insane. Your mind needs to be hard as fuck to deal with artists since their metrics for worthiness and recognition are so completely fucking deranged. Art school stacies will grade their anatomy while some 8 year old on the Internet blows them the fuck out. It is indeed all fake.
