What does Pennywise think about in his off time? Is he more intelligent than a human? Or perhaps actually less conscious than a human and more of an instinctually driven cosmic animal?
i think human intelligence is basically just social intelligence its just that to correctly navigate social cues you need a deep memory of past interaction and complex predictive abilities for future interactions. pennywise just wouldn't be social. maybe if he evolved from a social animal and became hyper oriented to seek pleasure from sadism, which would actually explain why he requires sadism specifically for his needs.but the 2017 pennywise specifically seemed like more of an idiot animal to maybe better match his spider form. this is millennial writing style trying to be too specific again "look mom and dad im smart, now i'll go to college and learn stem because its the only way to get a job - im happy about that!"but og pennywise was such a pedophile. he actually did seem to undererstand social cues complexly which is so much more frightening in that buffalo bill silence of the lambs waywhat was the question?2017 sucked
I don't really like how King has everything in all of his books relate back to something related to the Dark Tower series. That includes Pennywise and the Losers Club.

IT is intelligent in the books, I like to think when IT is asleep his avatar just disappears from Earth the way a video game character disappears from the world when you log out and reappears when you log back in.

SPOILER: the latest tv show hinted at retconning the 1980s movie because Pennywise exists outside of linear time and experiences all events simultaneously, he knows the future, he knows he is killed in 30 years, now his past self is actively trying to change the past to prevent it.
