The Black Halo is a 2005 album by Kamelot which adapts Faust. It switches things around to make Faust even more of an asshole, and his girlfriend less of one. Makes things lot darker than Goethe's version. Anyhow, it is a rock opera, presented (like Goethe's) as a play within a play. The Kamelot version is... a New Year's Eve performance. So I figured why the hell not.

It is actually part 2, with 'Epica' being the very good, but inferior, part 1. So fuck it.

I frequently listen to this album to wallow in guilt and regret. It is an album about guilt and regret. But the protagonist achieves catharsis. I do not. I just pick at my scab, ensuring the wound never heals.

I listened to this on New Years one year ago because this year was 20 years since it came out. It's an incredible album and a favorite of mine for over 15 years now.

Fuck yeah, I loved Kamelot. I was surprised they managed to find a new singer that sounded so much like the original.

For me it's Weighing Souls With Sand by The Angelic Process.

How did you get me to listen to this at almost 7 in the morning. It's alright, just not the kind of thing I'd listen before going to sleep.

Perfect rainy day music.

Lol I'm listening to Karma now because it's 25 years old this year. I wish I'd gotten to see them and meet them at ProgPower a few years ago, but alas I only saw them a decade ago
