Here nigga. The internet is the "third place" for 99% of the population. Otherwise meet people who are friends of your friends. If you don't have friends left over from school, then shooting in the dark online is all you've got.

Check out the newsletter for your local library, clubs and such often use it as a free space to get to organize events. Don't be a creep and show up to the ones for kids, but there should be adult only or all ages events.
Also any kind of community theater or local game store.
